Name: Honey De'Shayne
Age: 26
Caste: Black Widow Healer Queen
Race: Dharoan
Birth Territory: Pruul
Home Territory: Pruul
Birthright Jewel: requesting to use points for an extra dark roll
Jewel of rank: requesting to use points for an extra dark roll

Craft Strengths: Healing she's something of a prodigy at it, and shielding and using her craft as a show of force, in fact her skills at controlling blood flow and mending flesh have evolved so well she can use her Healing skills to kill as easily as she can use them to save life, she can turn the bodies natural defences into an accelerated state thus destroying the healthy cells rather than Healing. But she had one once but these skills to use.... And the amplifying the draw of a Queen on people around her, Honey can damn near dazzle males, particularly Warlord Princes with her call as a Queen. She uses it to make sure she has whomever she is dealing with complete attention.

Craft Weaknesses: using her abilities as a Black Widow, she is moderately good a weaving webs but Honey always saw terrible things in her webs and those that received webs from her couldn't keep them for long claiming to feel a very dark sense of malice emanating from them. She is abysmal at poisons and potions, her natural powers often negate to her need for them. She is also poor at toning down her power once she calls it in, unless she spends the energy she's called in she feels like she is swallowing sand when she tries pull it back into her.

Physical Description: Honey is a delicate looking woman even for her height, her frame is slender and dainty. At 5 ft. 2 inches tall she is the shortest woman in her family. Being so diminutive in stature tends to make people not take her seriously and she has display her jewels openly to make them realize she is a person to be reckoned with. Thankfully her figure has enough curves to keep her from looking like a waif, with small b-cup breasts and a waist that is tiny from years of wearing a tightly cinched corset. Her hips flare out slightly and lead to legs that are long for her body type. Her thick rich coffee coloured hair is usually pinned back from her face but she lets it fall free in the back to her waist unless she had it twisted up in some elaborate style. She likes her hair and is often complimented on it but her favourite feature about herself is her eyes. The last person in her family to have such eyes was her grandmother on her mother's side and every time she sees them in the mirror she remembers fondly the old matriarch of the family. To emphasize their soft pale hazel colouring she always lightly lines her eyes with kohl, and smoky eyeshadow. Their almond shape is only complimented by her thick ring of dark lashes which curl up nearly over the entirety of her eyelid. The only thing she truly doesn't like about her face is that her lovely eyes are a little too small for her face in her opinion, although she loves the triangular shape of her face.. She looks more like the kind of women rich Aristo Lords come to the market to purchase rather than do business with. She always used to wear comfortable pants and light tank-tops when she was studying her Healing Craft and at the local Hourglass Coven but after the death of her brother and she became Heir to her families' business she changed her style dramatically. The pants made her look like she was trying too hard to fit in with the male dominated slave traders. Her outfits now are always custom tailored to emphasize her figure and have corset styled bodices and soft layered skirts. Her new style is feminine, elegant and sexy. She is uses her sex appeal as a weapon, as soon as a man thinks of her as a beautiful woman he tends to forget she is also a shrewd business woman. The element of surprise is one of her favourite tactics in her trading deals. She wishes she could get away with heels more often but they are impractical in Pruul so she had dozens of pairs of soft dancing slipper style shoes with thick soles which are made of the softest buttery leather with she's ever seen. Overall she is seen as a beautiful very well put together woman with a dark streak only a fool would try to tangle with. She tries hard to live up to her new image, she knows if she fails so will her family's business.

Personality: Honey is a very strong-willed individual, but until now she's never had much use for it. And now most of that strong will is used to hold herself in rather than turn her anger and bitterness over the circumstances of her situation out on the world. Her love for her son Grayson and her forbidden love for Grayson's father Rome Meiyo only adds to her stress at the same time as being the only things she would not change about her life. She is loyal to a fault, giving up all her own dreams to keep the dreams and pride of her family strong despite the fact that she still truly doesn't want this life. The death of her brother five years ago has forced her to find the steely core of strength inside herself and she works very hard to hone the edge of that steel. If not for the love she has for her brother and the love Grayson has for his grandparents she'd have left her parents to their fate, but each times she reaches the point where she might abandon them she swears she can hear her brother's voice in the back of her mind. All the stories and dreams he poured out to her make her bite her tongue and try again to fill his shoes. It doesn't help that Grayson loves his home and has already started to talk about when he will one day run the Training House. And seeing Rome only reminds her how empty her life feels and how much she wishes she could be with him again. Unfortunately this conflict has left a dark coiling fury in the deepest part of her soul and Honey knows that it will be a terrible day when that part of her finally refuses to be denied one more time.

Usually she is soft spoken counting on her caste and jewels to keep people focused on her works rather than raising her voice. But her tongue has started to become sharp under the strain of who she is and who she is trying to be and she has to work very hard to curb her snappish Black Widow temper. The Queen part of her caste doesn't help and longs more than any other part of her not to be following the path she is on. It is the part of Honey she denies the most and is the most conflicted about. She has no ambition to rule, never has. But still the Queen part of her calls for the land and the welfare of it's people. All the tears and blood spilt on it from the suffering slaves and their masters or traders is like nails on a chalkboard for her, a constant dull ache that refuses to abate. Pursuing her father's trade has forced her to live with that pain and it has started to threaten to darken and twist Honey's sanity. She is pulling her self down an road that could seriously damage her in the end.

Grayson is her shining light. His laugh soothes her inner conflict and gives her the only true peace she knows. She loves to delight him with stories of a great hero named Rome Meiyo, it's as close to him ever knowing his father as she suspects he will ever get. Grayson's love of the Training House makes her work hard to make it her true home as well. She often thinks of her lost love, wondering what befell him after he was sent away. Despite her parents efforts she has no interest in marrying any of the other Aristo men her present to her. Grayson's father is a well kept secret, and it pains Honey not to be able to tell him the truth. But Grayson is wise beyond his young years and Honey fears he might already be concerning himself with thoughts of who his father might be. When the day comes that she can no longer hide the truth from him she knows her greatest regret will be not having the courage to risk her families' reputation by being true to her own heart and being with Rome.

Every day she learns more and more about the strength she never knew she had. It's a time of great personal growth for her as well as damaging self denial. She never thought of herself as strong enough to bring anyone to bear but if she can bring herself to her knees then the majority of the rest of the world shouldn't be so hard. Every once and a while her caste as a Healer sometimes make it difficult for her to be the harsh master she must be while training particularly difficult slaves. She's learned to use her call as a Queen as keenly as any other weapon in the Training House. The Queen part of her howls in fury at the suffering of the slaves while her Healer instincts demand she soothe their pain. Her Black Widow instincts have seemed to take on her rage and frustration and urge her to simply kill those that are keeping her caged and withdraw to the mysteries of the Hourglass. And in the middle of this conflict stands a young woman who more than anything misses the only person who every really cared about her and wants to make the most important person in her life now (Grayson) happy. It's a volatile combination that is doomed to destroy the mind of it's vessel if she cannot find her true purpose instead of trying to live a life that she was never meant for. She hates herself for not being able to take the same pride in the Training House as Logan did and Grayson seems to now.

But her determination to continue the House's reputation of being a firm but fair place for slaves to be trained properly without being broken makes her work through her guilt. Of all the Training Houses her families is the best, and is the kindest to the slaves that come to it. She repeats that to herself like a mantra, she knows things could be so much worse if the Training House was like the other low rate establishments that could be found in the Black Market. Seeing the broken stares of slaves in the market sets the Healer and Queen in her into such frenzies it's like being torn apart from the inside out. She is prone to headaches as a result, especially on days when she feels she is nearing the end of her proverbial rope. The strain of everything threatens to pitch her into the Twisted Kingdom and that is Honey's greatest fear. More than anything she knows she can never let her emotional state overwhelm her, she'll seek out someone to break her jewels first to protect people from the kind of damage she could do if she lost her mind. When she feels at her worse she scoops her son up and tells him another fantastic tale of the great hero Rome Meiyo and everything in her calms and focuses in on the sound of his laugh.

Being with Grayson reminds her of Rome and she misses him. In her dreams she imagines what her life would be like if she had refused to let Rome be sent away. If she'd admitted her affair with the beautiful slave that still haunted her dreams and they'd raised their son like a proper family. It's a lovely fantasy and she wishes it was true. Her parents hate every mention of Rome's name but Honey defies them with her stories she tells Grayson every night. In some small way she feels it connects the two.

For the most part she hides her internal struggle well and is at worst considered a little green when it comes to the slave training business.
She's got a dry sort of wit and isn't above flirting with the handsome men she meets while on the job but she doesn't have any real interest in dating. The distraction is nice from her thoughts but every male she meets falls short of Rome's memory. Being both a Black Widow Healer Queen and the Heir to a Slave Training House forces her to walk a fine line between her nature and the responsibilities she has taken on by agreeing to take Logan's place. Her new business training has taught her to look at people and situations with a practical but critical eye. Owners constantly haggling with her over the prices at the House has changed the way she sees things, now she sees the fiscal value in everything around her. It's a bleak view and clashes with the natural way she saw the world as a child. But money makes the world go round and she finally understands that after spending the last few years watching her father at work. Being both a single woman with a child and in the background of the family business for most of her life has forced her to fight to be recognized as capable of keeping the Training House up to par with it's hard-won reputation with the other influential members of the Pruulian Black Market. Managing her own feelings and instincts and all the external forces of her new career and trying to raise Grayson to the best of her ability is an incredible challenge but Honey is finding she has the force of will to do exactly that, time will prove for just how long she can manage it.

History: Honey's birth was more accidental than anything. Her parents already enamoured with their son saw their newborn daughter as a kind of extra child. They loved her but had no real expectations for the little girl. Her brother Logan on the other hand immediately fell in love with his little sister and proudly went around informing everyone who would listen about her birth. As far as wealth went her family was very well off and Honey was a pampered child by comparison to many others in Pruul. She had nothing but the high-quality bedding, clothing, food and toys but aside from Logan she rarely received any affection. The staff at her home were little frightened of her, finding the baby that almost never cried just a little too quiet for them. She just watched the world with her pale hazel eyes silently.

As she got a little older she wasn't a very friendly toddler, always preferring to be off on her own. She was the bane of her nannies since she was prone to wandering off to explore something that interested her. And she was so quiet she could successfully hide from them for hours before Logan would be called in to coax her out of wherever she was hiding. Logan, her older brother was a sharped-tongue 11 year old youth that already had shown a natural aptitude for learning the ins and outs of their families business and he was Honey's favourite person. He didn't have much time for his baby sister but what time he did have he spent it encouraging her development. Logan was the one who taught her her first words and helped her take her first tentative steps. He was the one she went to when she was hurt or afraid.

When she was seven Logan was the one who took her to the altar to receiver her __________ Birthright Jewel. The way his grey eyes had shone with pride had cemented her adoration of her older brother. He'd swung her around and carried her on his shoulders all the way home. Along the way they'd stopped at a vendor to splurge on sweets in celebration and he had even danced with her before he picked her back up and they finished their little trek back to the Training House. He was the only one who understood her and saw her true potential. He always told her she was stronger than she knew but at seven inner strength didn't seem so important to her, she was just glad Logan was happy with who she was. Her solitary nature hadn't changed and save for Logan she didn't spend much time with others, he was the centre of her small world. Her parents were surprised when the pair returned home that night at Honey's Jewel and considering her caste it was decided she would study with private tutors until she came of age to become a ward in some Queen's court to fulfil her training as a Healer Queen. Logan regretted that they would one day be separated but he was proud that she had a bright future ahead of her. The world was full of possibilities for her and he wanted nothing her to find her place, in his heart he knew she wasn't destined to work at the Training House like he was. He knew she had no love of it like he did. But at that age all she talked about was helping him run the house when she got older and he didn't have the heart to tell her otherwise.

When she reached the age of ten Logan decided it was time to coax his shy solitary sister out of her shell. He took her to acceptable social events and introduced her to others her own age. At first the children where a little nervous around her but their parents saw Honey's dual castes and dark Jewel as an opportunity and they encouraged their children to befriend the strange girl. Being naive and young Honey never suspected the ulterior motives. She slowly opened up and she started making friends. A quick study she learned the social graces that she'd been lacking and began to anticipate the days she could go and visit her new friends. Logan, being the wiser of the two played overseer to her budding social proclivities, helping her to spot people who were genuinely interested in her and those that just thought that being friends with a _________ Jewelled Healer Queen could be beneficial..

Honey's social skills improved under Logan's tutelage and she found great enjoyment at last at social gatherings. She developed a great love for dancing and actually talked Logan into convincing her parents to pay for her to study dance with a formal teacher. After a couple of years her teacher proudly announced she was the best student he'd ever had. Honey was proud of herself. When she was twelve and a half she went to stay at the Court of a Village Queen to complete her training in the Healing Craft and Protocol. She found no real pleasure in her training during her stay at the Court save for Healing Craft, which she showed enormous talent at under her new tutor. Her control over her power as she used it to Heal was unrivalled and so precise her teacher actual became nervous that Honey could use her skill to take life as easy as she could save it. But the rather passive temperament Honey displayed kept her from voicing her concerns.

Honey put such little effort into her studies with her gifts as a Queen her teacher nearly snappishly gave up on her several times. Honey clearly could feel the call of the land and it's people and people clearly could feel the call of a Queen from her but Honey showed no interest in it at all. Her tutor despaired that would never lead her own Court and that it would be such a waste of her talent and Jewels.
Honey didn't share her sense of loss. She didn't want to rule, something told her that if she did she'd only bring darkness to the land despite her best intentions. She never confessed her secret fear to anyone, not even Logan. Honey just continued to ignore her Queen instincts as much as possible.

Unfortunately when she reached the time of her first moon's blood her personality underwent a radical change. She became more solitary again and moody. Her nails darkened and it became apparent that she was also a natural Black Widow on top of being a Healer Queen. Logan was ecstatic when her heard that Honey had become a Black Widow Healer Queen and he came to the Village to visit. It was he who helped her remain calm throughout the changes that overtook her body. He tolerated her mood swings and new shorter temper. His encouragement helped her ride out the storm of settling into her new caste and the two were never closer. After a few months she was accustomed to her new caste well enough that Logan could return home to continue his own training with her father and he brought her back for a short visit before she had to return and begin studying with the Hourglass Coven to learn to master her new caste.

She didn't enjoy the training and only marginally passed her studies. Every time she wove a web she was consumed by a sense of malice and panic. It was like something inside was only using her to weave it's dark intentions and horrible futures for others and she would often throw her web away from herself screaming and rubbing her hands on her pants as if they were dirty. She tried making some smaller webs for others but they complained of being uneasy with her webs and the sisters of the Hourglass were left at a loss as to why she was having such trouble. It didn't help that Honey hated the fact that she was a Black Widow. Her whole life had she'd built her dreams up of being a Healer in some small village and now her triple caste coupled with her Jewels was drawing more attention to her than she liked. Still she tried and after a few years it was clear that she had no real talent or desire to continue her studies and the Hourglass Coven agreed that there was no reason for her to continue her training.

By the time she was nineteen her wit had dried and became sharp. Her Virgin Night was arranged and an Grey-Jewelled Warlord guided her through it with exceptional skill. Afterwards he pursued her and they dated briefly for a few weeks. He taught her art of flirting and how sweetness could entice. She enjoyed her time with him a great deal but in the end he choose to return to his home province and settle down with a light-jewelled witch he'd met a few weeks earlier. Honey was disappointed but not heartbroken, men were a distraction from her conflicted heart and she often went out to spend the night dancing. Honey was flourishing but always found the rather frivolous lifestyle she was living rather empty. In her soul she felt that she wasn't where she was meant to be. Her petite frame and exotic features made her sought after but before she could begin the typical flirting most girls her age were doing she meet someone who changed her life.

While she was home for a visit during the summer she met a slave that changed the course of her life. Rome Meiyo was a slave that was brought to the Training House that summer. The handsome man instantly captured Honey's attention, not with his looks but with the way he spoke. Honey loved to listen to Rome speak, he had a slight accent that captivated her. As she got to know him better she found herself very quickly falling in love with him. Their time together was brief but very intense. Honey had to work hard to keep their love a secret from her parents but she managed it until a few months later when she realized that despite her precautions she was with child. It was the most difficult thing she ever did admitting that she was planning on keeping her child and that she was in love with Rome.

Her parents were furious and threatened to disown Honey if she did not put the child up for adoption and keep her affair a secret. At first Honey refused but and tried to negotiate Rome's release to her. If her parents would give her Rome's contract she would take it and leave with him and their unborn child. But Logan refused to see Honey disowned and pleaded with his parents to forgive her. Her child would be a De'Shayne and he would arrange for a proper marriage for Honey to cover her unexpected pregnancy. Rome would be sent away he decreed. Honey fought Logan's decision but his parents acquiesced to his request and sent Rome away. If Honey didn't follow their plan they threatened to send her child away as well. Young and afraid she put her faith in Logan, her best friend and most trusted ally for all her life. Her parents owned Rome and could do anything they wanted with him. In exchange for her silence and obedience Logan promised to find a kind master for her beloved. It broke Honey's heart when Rome was taken away.

Honey was sent to a quiet place out of the province for her pregnancy. The story was that she had been sent to a District Queen's Court to work on her training as a Black Widow Healer Queen. Unfortunately before she could give birth another tragedy struck. Logan was killed, in a tavern brawl that got out of hand and spiralled to include everyone in the tavern rather they had originally been involved or not. Honey defied her parents orders and returned home at once. She knew that her return would be a scandal but she didn't care. There was no way she was going to miss Logan's funeral. Eight months pregnant she returned home to mourn her brother.

Her parents were devastated and despaired that there was no-one to act as heir to the business that had consumed their family for generations. Since long before her birth a De'Shayne had always run the House and it was the source of their pride and honour. Her parents seemed to have aged ten years under the stain of their grief. In fact they were so broken they couldn't even bring themselves to care about the scandal the return of their unmarried pregnant daughter had caused. The Training House had always been run by a De'Shayne, their ancestors had sworn that it always would be. All that they had worked for was nearing an end. Her father had planned to step down within two years and now there was no heir to replace him. Even the house staff had taken to wailing and mourning the end of the House tradition.

In his letters Logan had always expressed how badly he wanted to run the Training House, to keep their families honour and name intact for another generation and one day pass the privilege to his own child. It had been his dream and greatest passion. Honey couldn't bear to see his dream fail. Logan had been the most important person to her and there was nothing else she could do for him now but pick up the mantle he had left behind. But she had her own dream, of one day working as a Healer in the city and she had felt so close to it. She knew with her skill at the Healing Craft that she could go anywhere to find her place, who would turn her down? She could have her own little clinic and raise her child. When she could afford it she was going to go and find Rome. Maybe she could convince his new master to sell him to her so she could set him free. Then they could finally be together. She wanted that so bad, but if she followed that path Logan's dream would die. Honey stood at the crossroads in her life and she didn't know what to do.

The night after Logan's funeral she sat up all night by his gravestone and tried to find an answer to her family's despair. More than anything she wanted Logan's spirit to be at peace and she swore if he sent her a sign she would follow in his footsteps. She'd give up everything and made sure the Training House stayed in the De'Shayne family. Logan's spirit wept and tried to offer the peace to live her own life but Honey mistook his efforts. She awoke the next morning with Logan's physic scent all around her and promised to uphold her vow. She would run the House and keep Logan's dream alive. She'd raise her child to one day take up the mantle she would carry for Logan and it. Rising from the dirty ground she dusted herself off and purposefully strode towards the Training House to announce her intentions to take Logan's Place. After she initially told her parents she spent the night crying herself to sleep as she tried to let go of the last tendrils of her own dreams and the hope of ever being with Rome again.

Shortly thereafter she gave birth to her son. She named him Grayson Logan De'Shayne after her fallen brother. She wept when he was handed to her the first time wishing that Rome could see the beautiful little boy they had created. Between raising her son and trying to learn the ins and outs of the Training House Honey was very busy. She gave 100% of herself to both facets of her life. Grayson brought life back into her bleak world and she adored her son with all her heart. He reminded her of Logan so much it hurt. But she saw so much of Rome in their son that it broke her heart each time she looked at him. She missed Rome so much, and she knew he would love Grayson as much as she did. How she wished she could tell him about his son.

At first her parents were sceptical of her ability to fill Logan's shoes but the endless determination she displayed during the training her father gave her changed their attitudes towards her after a while. Her father taught her how to train slaves without breaking them, to be harsh and firm yet fair. He taught her how to measure the worth of a trainer by the success of the slaves they trained. He taught her how to judge the potential of a slave and which training would suit them best. She learned how to pick the right slave from the slave pens for a request from a purchaser. It was hard work and often conflicted with the natural instincts of her castes and made her think of Rome often but she pressed on and made herself complete every lesson her father taught her. She drew on the sharper edge of her Black Widow instincts and her snake tooth was always a deadly reminder that of how easily she could kill those that challenged her. By the time she was twenty-three she had gained her parents respect and admiration for her progress.

At twenty three the Darkness called to her and she went to the altar to make her Offering. When she descended to the _________ she wished desperately that Logan and Rome could be there to greet her the next day, the celebration her parents threw her was bittersweet. As she and Grayson were now her parents only hope of continuing their family traditions for another two generations and they lavished all their attentions on the pair as they once had Logan. It was nice for a while but she would rather Logan was still there for them to dote on while she lived away from the Training House with Rome and their son. It was too late for her to love her parents, she was only still in their lives because Logan had loved her enough to try and garner their forgiveness for her. And they desperately needed her now. She still hadn't been able to forgive them for taking Rome away from her but this was her life now and she tried not to be bitter for Grayson's sake.

Grayson grew so quickly. He was a cheerful but kind of moody child. Inquisitive and ever curious he was always asking questions and Honey loved the way his little face would scrunch up in thoughtful frown as he tried to put things together himself. He loved the Training House and the lavish attention his grandparents heaped upon him. They spoilt him and Honey worked hard to make sure he learned to appreciate things that were not material as well. She didn't want him to grow up to be like her parents. He had a good head on his shoulder and didn't take the spoiling to heart. Honey was proud of the quiet noble boy who reminded her so much of her brother and his father. The times she enjoyed the most where just before bedtime when she told Grayson stories of a chivalrous hero and his great adventures. Grayson delighted in her stories about a hero named Rome Meiyo and Honey found it was the only time she could think of Rome without feeling sad.

Her father began introducing her to his network of contacts amongst the slave traders and merchants of the Black Market as his Heir.
