Pitch is white with frost but once the sun gets on it we should be ok.

Lost 3-2, what a diabolical performance.

Seems like we set off like a train with a new man at the helm but it all to quickly goes back to the same old story where we ship goals for fun maybe the players need to take some responsibility for a change

Today was disappointing but neither side outplayed the other and a draw would have been fair I thought. That being said we should be beating sides like padiham and once again the midfield was ineffective. It was good to see a decent crowd and there was a good buzz about the place but judging from some comments from people around me the performance did little to get the casual or new fans to come back.

A few observations following today:

- We miss Scott Bakkor and Danny Smith. Two weeks ago we had an embarrassment of riches up front, this week Lloyd looked isolated. Chewie took defenders out of the game and created space and Danny gave us an option. Without both we looked far less dangerous.

- No width on the left. It can't be a coincidence that since Bellew left we have looked very narrow. All the attacks come down the right with wedgy pushing on, whilst Bellew wasn't great defensively he at least offered an attacking threat and we had width both sides. This created space in the middle of the park and we looked more balanced. Since his departure we lack the same penetration and look no stronger defensively.

- No playmaker in midfield, we have grafters and worker but no creative element. We look devoid of the ideas that made us look good a few weeks ago.

- defensively we look poor. Two of their goals just come off the back of defenders not picking up runners. The third in particular was poor as there were two free to knock it in on the back post.

- Continuity breeds familiarity and in turn this improves performance. I brought my Dad again who last went to the Burscough game and he was gobsmacked at the turnover in players. This was brought home when he was reading the pen pic profiles in the program to realise most of them has left the club! We seem to be seeing new players every week and these not lasting long. Maybe getting a settled side would see us get back to winning ways

I expected to see a period of change but the honeymoon period has long gone. Loan players are fine but not when there not available. We seem to be recuiting from lower leagues, I expected more experienced players would be brought in. Six games without a win now.
Lets replace the quality we did have please. Tactics wise where's the midfield bite? Where's the wide players? Fans patience is limited.

A very thoughtful posting from Lowmoorblue, there. There's no doubt that the last minute recall of Sean Miller by Chester left Lloyd isolated up front. I thought that Jimmy Walker showed that he could make the left back position his own and I saw enough flashes from Kieran Lee on the left to show that he has something to offer at this level, if given licence to roam out wide. Three very tough games to come in the next seven days, but if we bottled the fight that Ross Dent brought to the party, we wouldn't go far wrong. I'm sure Simon would agree that a settled team is the key to it all.

Will definitely be a tough three games and on the back of a mini slump we will be up against it. I have to agree with comment about Ross Dent, lots of fight and passion and it's exactly what the team need.

Unfortunately as I am down south at the in laws would anyone be so kind to post updates of tomorrow's game?
