The game is ON. The pitch will be heavy, but it's game on.

Lets hope the lads put in a better performance than against Padiham or we could be in for a real drubbing today. On a positive note the playing surface this season has been superb, probably one of the better ones in our league.

Game is On. We got hit with storm of hail and rain at 6.30 and pitch was under two inches of water in parts. Much forking from Jim and I and at 10 am the pitch was draining well enough to get the game on. Will be a mud bath by half time but thats football.

Come on you Blues!

Heavy pitch and muddy conditions should be a levellwe and work in our favour. I'd be happy with a draw

Thoroughly deserved the 1-0 victory, hard the believe it was the same team that lost to Padiham 48 hours earlier (well apart from a couple of changes) and another good gate of 303.

No question it was a well deserved win and a 100% better performance than Boxing Day.
Having Sean Miller back was a bonus, but my MOM was Danny Wilkins.
Best result of the season so far!

Wow! I gave Danny W the nod as well. Warrington knew they'd been beaten by a younger, quicker team who wanted it more, hence the ridiculous scenes at the end. Full report to follow tomorrow, but I shall enjoy that beer now. That should put 30 on the gate at BB on New Year's Day now.

I also thought Danny Wilkins was our best player but Ross Dent wasn't far behind. To be honest we looked good all over the pitch with everyone playing their part. Lets have more of the same please. I thought the referee and linesman made a poor decision in not sending off their giant sub for an awful over the top challenge but this seemed to really fire us up. Then he awarded us a really soft penalty for what turned out to be the winner, so I suppose no complaints from me.

I loved the picture in the non-league paper as Wedgey roars at the lads celebrating - brilliant. Good report from Colin as well..... Very much an unsung hero for me is Mr Wedge, along with Will James. Both put in 7-8/10 performances every game, go about their business in a very unassuming fashion, and in Wedgey's case run themselves to a standstill on the right wing, looking to provide the overlap. He's in severe danger of being a bit of a legend.

Talking of unsung heroes, a little word of thanks for all the managers, players and small band of helpers for staging and playing in two great games with two brilliant crowds in the space of three Christmas days. About as popular as the proverbial pork pie at a bar mitzvah in the respective households, I'm sure, but the crowds and certainly yesterday's performance made it worthwhile. From Anne rustling up the players' food on each match day before putting out the pies and players' strips in the morning and overseeing the entire operation, to Billy, Jim and Pete for sorting out the pitch (and the stewarding and kitman duties in Billy's case), to the Jackson family for sorting out the visiting officials's hospitality and manning the turnstile (along with Snapey) and canteen, to Loi and Anne for selling the programmes and the golden goal tickets, I salute you all. The club owes you a huge debt. I shall be looking to add a few more to your number over the coming weeks. Good to see the bar full on both days as well as the new Garner era evolves on the pitch.
