Firstly hope the lad who was carried off isn't too badly hurt. Sad to see a player get injured.

Right to the game. We didn't actually deserve to lose this game. Young they maybe but all full of vim and vigour. A 100% better effort than weeks game. Showed some good stuff and really should have gone 2-0 had the ball not hit the crossbar. Lots of promise shown from an inexperience side. Gave 'em to soft goals, Keeper error and a penalty.
Tired a bit in the second half I thought and fitness levels will improve. The 17 year old who I believe hasn't played for a month deserves a mention.

I have purposely stayed off the forum over the last few weeks as emotions always run high when a new manager is appointed. After a great start the honeymoon period is well and truly over for Simon and the staff. BUT I believe the way he has made the decision to give local young talent an opportunity could prove to be an absolute master stroke in the long run. Yes we have struggled results wise but the crowds have remained one of the highest in the league and I think if we continue to blood young local lads then the supporters will stay behind the team!

We're not going to get promoted now and are definitely not going to go down so for me the right thing is to see who is good enough from this bunch for the next few seasons and have a long term plan as to where we are going. Yes we may take a pasting or two but the young lads need to experience it in order to achieve potential.

This was a vast improvement on the Ossett game. The two lads up front were both 28, and that physical presence made a big difference, indeed the all action performance by Matt McNamara made him comfortably my man of the match. Allied to Bryn Potter, the 17 year old right winger who was well up for action, and Cial Callagher, the 18 year old centre back who Simon chose to partner to guide him through, this was a game we did not deserve to lose. It was also thoroughly enjoyable. Yes, the Harrogate goals were down to individual errors and the softest of penalties, but it was a world away from last week. Report to follow shortly.

It's encouraging to hear that there was an improvement on the previous game although I still worry where our next win is going to come from.
