Just spoken to the Padiham secretary. The ground is very soft and will cut up, but goes ahead without a pitch inspection. Obviously, the only caveat is we have no monsoons between now and 3pm, but the forecast looks OK. See you all there. |

This had war of attrition written all over it, with a heavy pitch demanding the long ball at times. A Sefton penalty, which he earned himself, and a Jay Hart goal should have had us cruising, but a neat shot from the edge of the box narrowed the lead before half time. A couple of changes saw Louis Mayers and Simon Garner come on and they relished the battle. A bizarre goal from the manager direct from a corner almost sealed it but an 88th minute Padiham goal set pulses racing. However, it was Clitheroe's day and the three points were fully deserved. |

Sefton got the final touch to the 2nd goal. Looked like Jay's shot was going in but Sefton made sure. Counted six ex-Clitheroe players in the hosts team! Still haven't worked out who the eight ex-Padiham players were in ours Very satisfying win !! |

Awful game but I suppose it's another 3 points. I don't thing the result was every in doubt even when they scored their second. I see that know one is calling the referee even though Sefton tripped over himself for the penalty. |

Thought it was a decent game on a difficult surface. Was only the second time this season I have seen us play and I was impressed. I was particularly impressed with Sefton. I saw quite a bit of him last season at Kendal Town and, while they had the likes of Jordan Connerton and Danny Mitchley at times, they always seemed to play better when he was in the team. I think Clitheroe have got a very good player on their hands. I like the look of the partnership he has struck up with Jason Hart and yesterday showed we have options in attacking positions. It wasn't the goals - he's a striker so goals should be a given - it was the way he led the line and bullied the centre halves. Thoroughly enjoyable away trip and victory. |
