I'll ask the question again. Why do we leave our tallest player and best header of the ball on the halfway line when they have a corner? If Sefton had been defending they might not have had a free header to score their first goal. First half we were embarrassingly poor but improved after the break and created a few good chances but Chorley always looked like they could step it up a notch if they wanted. Was disappointed to see Garner in the starting 11 and even more disappointed when he wasn't subbed especially when his legs had gone and he continually kept giving the ball away. What does Ross Dent have to do to get a regular game. Came away feeling very disappointed.

The mantra was to keep a clean sheet for 20 minutes, but an unmarked header and a very dubious penalty in quick succession knocked the stuffing out of us. The key chances came towards the end of the half but the killer soft third goal gave us too much to do. Second half, we found our rhythm, we didn't panic, Sefton had a great one on one, but in the end the better team won. For me, Simon G (sorry Pete) and Lynchy were our best players, but Chorley's Route 1 football, with the pace and aggression they had in that front line, was just too much to handle. Great turnout of Blues at the game and I'd be surprised if we didn't have half the 1,600 gate.

And so to Farsley and a chance for those who weren't happy with their performance to show the boss what they can do and to stake a claim for our play-off push next season.

I agree about the good turnout, probably between 600 to 700 blues fans. There were a lot of unfamiliar faces, some have probably never been on Shawbridge. Don't agree with your choice of best players, but that's football and it would be boring if everyone thought the same. Still annoyed that Ross didn't start and also the poor defending when they scored from the corner. When we had a corner or free-kick James Dean (their best header of the ball) was always in the box defending. This is really basic stuff and we don't do it, you should always bring your big players back to defend corners. They still sent their centre backs forward when Sefton stopped up front. I think we will need to improve a hell of a lot to stand a chance or getting a play-off spot next season. We need to be much more organised as a unit but I'm not sure the current management team have ability or experience to achieve this.

Wasn't to be our night. No regrets. A big thank you to those all who worked hard behind the scenes at CFC organising the final for the fans.

Not sure what orginising CFC did for the fans. I went to banana news for a ticket on Saturday and they had to send them back on Thursday.

Spot on Pete. The fairies did it all. I must see if they'll do some stewarding for us on a matchday.

I think you missunderstood. I wasn't having a go at you because I know we have a very small but hard working group looking after the interests of the club. Peter made it sound like the club had organised the final.
