I think we've been there three times and nul points is the current record. The highlight was scoring an early goal (last season?) before the usual avalanche of goals from their team of giants ensued. I'm really looking forward to getting at least our first point tomorrow!

The result doesn't really matter, our season is well and truly over. Time to start planning for next season and giving some of the fringe and younger players more game time.

Would be nice to finish with a flourish and go up a couple of places, but we've only two games left against teams below us.
Whatever happens, I think all of us will agree it's been much better this season compared with last season.

I'll use the slight anonymity of the forum to comment on the game. And boy, was it ultimately frustrating. Without doubt, the best we've ever played at Farsley and for 60 minutes we clearly had shaded a game devoid of many chances. And then a 60 second brainstorm by the officials. Sefton got a shove with two hands in the back that sent him flying. No free kick. The ball was hoofed forward - the forward who got it was 5, I repeat, 5 yards offside. I wasn't in line, but sensible Clitheroe fans and indeed their manager acknowledged he was off. Brady then cleared, but a tiny tug from Jimmy Walker was adjudged to be a penalty. A farce. Farsley's second goal was a cracker, but the damage was done 5 minutes earlier. The lads were clapped off by the 20 travelling fans, but this can be a frustrating business at times, not least when we had the balance of play. On to Tuesday, and victory against Spennymoor would be some measure of justice.

I think you summed it if up fairly LD, though I can't comment on anything other than the push in the lead up to the first goal as I didn't really see clearly what went on after that. The second goal was a real cracker and we were never going to fight back from 2-0 down.

We certainly dominated the whole of the first half and much of the second but the killer touch was missing.

I disagree with petem that the season is 'over'. I've never believed in that kind of mentality. We've 7 games left and a pretty well full squad available again. We're not going anywhere but lets see how well we can play.
