The first half proved that we are still a long way off being a side pushing for a play-off spot. Spennymoor looked much fitter, faster and far better organised than us and we were very lucky to go in at halftime only 2-0 down. Second half we had a go and were much improved but I don't think their keeper had more than one save to make during the whole of the game. In my opinion we are being held back by our inexperienced management team and there were some really strange decisions again last night. Still leaving Sefton upfront when they have a corner. Leaving Danny Morton (another good header of the ball) back when we had a corner. Making 3 substitutions at halftime, think we got lucky there. Our lack of discipline is also a major problem and it all stems from the dugout. How do they expect the players to be disciplined when they spent the whole game balling and shouting at the referee and assistants. On a positive note I thought Ryan Cattermole looked excellent when he came on and should have done enough to earn a start on Saturday. |

I don't feel quite as negative as petem about last nights performance and thought Spennymoor were probably the best team I've seen this season. I imagine we leave Sefton up front for corners as he gives us a target for passing out of defence when the ball is won, and Danny Morton gives effective cover at the other end if the opposition break. I do agree with petem on the discipline issue. It's appalling. A also agree that Ryan Cattermole looked real quality again. |

First half we were out played by a very good side. Second half was better but we still never forced their keeper to make a save. We are a good few players short of being a potential play off side. However we need to keep the good ones we have for next season too Really hope to see young Ryan get some game time for rest of the season, every time I see him he impresses me Finally, totally agree that our discipline is awful. How many red cards is that for the season now? |
