Can anyone remember any similar Clitheroe comebacks to win after being 2-0 down?
I'm sure there must have been others over the years?

Weren't we 2-0 down once against Fleetwood before a late Barrie Hart hat-trick gave us an improbable 3-2 win? We were two-nil down in my first-ever Clitheroe game in 1995 against Prescot Cables before winning 3-2. Simon Westwell missed a penalty as well.

Late 80s, Boxing Day, 1,200 on against Stanley, with Eric Whalley's as their manager. 2-0 down, we went on to beat them 3-2. No idea who scored as I'd died and gone to heaven. Perhaps Roy can check the bibles and confirm I didn't dream it!

The game v Fleetwood where Barrie Hart scored a hat-trick was on 14/09/2002 but I've got us as winning that one 3-1. Simon Garner played in that game.

The Prescot game was on 23/12/1995 but they were called Town then rather than Cables. Simon Westwell scored 1 pen and Steve Lampkin and Andy Lawson scored the other goals.

The Stanley game was on 26/12/1986 but I've got a 3-3 draw rather than a 3-2 win. Scorers were (John?) Taylor with 2 and an own goal.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story Roy! :P There was the famous last minute JR winner when we looked to be going out of the vase in our Wembley year, 1-0 down with not long to go, won 2-1. We've also been on the wrong end of comebacks, Cammell Laird from 3-0 up to 3-3 and New Mills this season the same.

I remember us getting two late goals 2013/2014 season against Burscough in the last five mins with Loyd Dean scoring a wonder goal in the ninetieth minute but I don't know if we were two down , final score 2 3 to Clitheroe.

We were indeed Denis :

Keith Wedge, Warren Bellew and Ben Cartwright replaced Charlie Collinge, Simon Garner and George Wysocki in defence, Scott Byrom, debutant Daniel Wilkins and Chris Dykes replaced Danny Smith, Jason Jones and Lloyd Dean in midfield, Scott Bakkor replaced Lee Barrett up front.

Goals: Burscough - 6 mins, 15 : Clitheroe - D.Smith 74 mins, Bakkor 86, Dean 90

Team : Josh Ollerenshaw, Keith Wedge (c), Warren Bellew, Will James, Ben Cartwright, Scott Byrom, Daniel Wilkins, Ross Dent, Aiden Wainwright (Danny Smith), Scott Bakkor, Chris Dykes (Lloyd Dean). Subs - Danny Smith, Lloyd Dean. Not used - Simon Garner, George Wysocki, Charlie Collinge.

Great game and a great atmosphere in that shed when Lloyd put it in.

The 26/12/1986 game v Stanley was a 3-3 draw according to the Advertiser report. Stanley came from 1-3 down so I'm sure that's not the match LD. Perhaps it's the one from New Year's Day 01/01/1986 when we beat them 4-3 with goals from J.Taylor(2), Ashcroft and Eatough?

Yes, the 01/01/1986 game was played in front of 700 on a quagmire of a pitch at Shawbridge. Clitheroe were 1-3 down with 21 minutes left to play and were 4-3 up after 79 minutes. The winning goal came when "Dunn made a tremendous run down the left wing before crossing to Taylor to score at the far post" (according to the Advertiser report).

All good 'Roy of the Rovers/Billy the Fish' stuff. Much whirring of rattles!

That sounds like the one Roy. Blurring it with the other game when Eric had moved to be Stanley manager and increasing the crowd by 500 in my head, also sounds like me!
