Not for nothing were the hosts in sixth place. On a hard, bumpy pitch, close ball control came second best to deflecting the ball forward at pace to teammates. The Mossley right winger, Pratt, gave young Ryan a torrid time. That said, he was probably the best winger I've seen this season. From 2 goals down, Denty pulled it back to 2-1 and the travelling Blues started to hope. However, a penalty and a sprung offside trap killed the dreams dead in the five minutes before half time. The second half was more even, and even saw a home player dismissed with 10 minutes to go for an unknown transgression. Sefton had a couple of headers to take his tally to 20, but in the end Mossley were good value for the win. |
