Danny has signed for Stockport County.

Official site

A great move for Danny personally and you can't stand in his way about moving to a Conference North club, especially one of Stockport's stature.

Think this is a huge loss for the team and I hope we can replace him adequately.

Any thoughts?

Double-edged sword as always. Great to see a player progress and to have the knowledge that Clitheroe FC has, once again, played a pivotal and principal role in a young player's development. But at the same time, the only thing that really matters to me as a fan is Clitheroe FC's results, performances and fortunes so to see a quality player leave is obviously very disappointing. I felt last year's team, with a few quality additions like Greg and Scott, could challenge for the play-offs like we did under Paul Moore. Their arrival has obviously been offset slightly by the departure of Danny and it's up to the management to replace quality with quality, which I am hopeful they will if the first two signings of the summer are anything to go by.

There's no doubt Danny has all the attributes to succeed. I hope he hits the ground running and makes a real success of the move. Anyone moving up the ladder goes with my full blessing. As for the good ship CFC, as long as Simon and Ryan keep adding the quality quicker than we lose it to higher ranking teams, we'll be fine!

The fact that Carl Garner has gone to Stockport County as their head of recruitment explains a lot. Thanks for taking one our best players mate!
