Not a game littered with chances but one which Clitheroe comfortably controlled for the first 60 minutes. Two poacher's goals from Lloyd were the least the Blues deserved for their efforts, but an inability to defend a deep corner and then a miscalculation by the keeper as the ball swerved in flight, which meant he could only parry it into the path of a forward, meant a nervous last few minutes for the lads. A great debut from left back Darren Thornton, previously from Radcliffe, and Danny Morton slotted in well at centre back in place of the injured Ben Cartwright. Clitheroe were the better side but the score doesn't lie.

I've been impressed with Danny Morton when I've seen him. He looks as though he could slot in anywhere on the pitch and has that 'confident' air about him.
