Games that actually meant something; Dumb title but you'll get it

What
I'm talking about games that changed how you looked at things or whatnot.

I've got to say the following for titles that have changed how I thin kabout certain things.

- Super Smash Brothers: Opened me up to interesting things. I never thought fighting games could be enjoyable.
- Morrowind: Possibly one of my favorite games of all time. The expansiveness of it made me delve into using the construction set for the PC version to create various things. I'm now in college for computer programmign as a future career.
- Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne(Maniacs Edition): Introduced me to the type of RPG that REQUIRED thinking. To this day, not many RPG's come close to that level of strategy.
- Disgaea: Introduced me to a game with music I enjoyed. This probably got me into game music as an interest.
and of course..
- The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time: By far one of the best games I've ever had the joy to play. When I remember the fear I had as a kid from hearing the redeads looking at me, it brings back some good memories. I should probably make another run through it.

Metroid Prime: Opened me up to 1st person shooters. I remember actually screaming one time when a Chozo ghost poped up an inch away from my 'face'.

Super Smash Brothers: Same as phantom, but also because its a platform fighting game. Nothing else like it. :3

Boktai: Yes, I'm putting it here, because before Boktai I hated Vampires and stuff similar, now I'd actually like to find another fun vampire hunting game

Fire Emblem- got me interested in TRPGs, which eventually lead to my love of all things Nippon Ichi.

Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow- Got me interested in Stealth games, which eventually lead to my love of all things sneaky, effing with people's minds, and disturbing facts about the weaknesses of the human body.

Halo 2- Lead to my love of Machinima, which in turn pointed me to This Spartan Life, which in turn lead me to Gamer Theory <3

Shadow of the Colossus- Really defined my view of games as art. And stabbing things 80 times my size.

Phantom Brave- Jeez, what ISN'T to love about PB? This one really, REALLY showed me the storytelling potential a video game has, and how OTHER games more often than not don't live up to that potential.

Animal Crossing (The Gamecube version, mind you)-Oh, the countless years of my life wasted upon this beauty. I'm still trapped in a love triangle (or is it a quadrilatteral?) between a purple cow, a japaneese rabbit, and a yellow elephant. Funny thing is, I don't really like any of them. (I hope Elise doesn't see that...)

Guitar Hero 2- I just cannot play air guitar anymore without relatively matching the notes that would be required in a GH game. DAMMIT!

Ratchet and Clank: I just like blowing sh*t up.

Kingdom Hearts: Introduced me to "One Winged Angel," which turned me into the Nobuo Uematsu/The Black Mages fan I am now.

And... Phantom... you were scared of the Redeads? I was stuck on Dodongo's cavern for several years, just because of how spooky the entrance room was XD

Yea, I was downright terrified of them and Wallmasters. Took me a while to beat the Shadow Temple due to terror. Though when I go in there now it's kinda cool looking but not horrifying anymore.

And to add two more:

- GoldenEye 64: The Best shooter I have ever played. Many days were spent playing with friends in various remote mine themed events. Halo was fun if we did system link Flag matches but Goldeneye was always fun.
- Onimusha: I absolutely love the series. The story telling was amazing as well as how you had to fight your way through situations. The openning to Demon Seige was brilliant in my opinion. <3 Samanosuke.

Pure Awesome!

I was looking forwards to Shadow Temple, actually. Bongo-Bongo sounded like a fun boss. Then again, I used to scream whenever thoes goddamn ghosts would jump out of you from nowhere in Sonic Adventures 2.

As for remote mines... I remember spending an hour trying to create a pyrotechnics show using remote mines in Temple. The idea was to lay them out in a cross shape, stand in the middle, and shoot straight down. Unfortunately, I can't make a straight line for the life of me, so it was more of a sphere of fire encasing the entire room xD

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - My first game. Ever. I was beating my dad at VS by my 3rd birthday. This game helped me become the Sonic fan I am today, and, by observing Sonic's carefree and easy-going nature, I became the optimist I am.

Super Mario 64 - Oh geez, this was the first game that made me play for hours on end. I still remember when I couldn't play the water levels because I was so afraid of the eel and sharks. I was so happy when I got the DS version, which helped me overcome my fear. I finally got all the stars by myself!

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask - NOOOOO! This was the first game that I couldn't finish because I was too scared of it. The shear panic of hurrying to beat a dungeon before the moon crashes made my 7-year-old heart give way. I couldn't even get INTO the Deku Temple. Luckily, I found the Gamecube version and got through nearly all of that without too much trouble. Just goes to show how much I've grown up.

Pokemon Blue - Do I even need to say it? This game was by far the most addicting game to ever reach my thumbs. I played for hours. And hours. And more hours. This was the game that really morphed me into my handheld freak form. I still remember that lvl. 100 Blastoise I had...

Crash Bandicoot - OH THE LULZ. This game made me laugh so hard I couldn't even play too much at a time. Shutup I was 8. Anyway, it really sculpted my sense of humor and caused me to love LOVE LOVE silly things. Comic relief ftw.

Gex 3D - Pretty much the same as Crash. This one was not only fun, but it caused me to bust a gut more times than one. Again, shutup, I was 8.

Anyway, I'm sure there's more, but that's what I remember at the moment.

Okay I'll try to keep it short, but

Sonic - By far a better series than Mario, its fast, fun, and the type of game that makes me want to replay it.(Recent ones lack many things though.)

Final Fantasy 6, 7 - The only ones I played and I was stunned, 7 I almost stopped playing because of the graphics but was overrated everywhere I looked, kept me playing. 6, in terms of generation 6 had better graphics for a nintendo system than 7 did for the Playstation, everything was good its just that the villain was a clown. A CLOWN! How gross.

Kingdom Hearts - My first RPG without the turn-based system, great storyline, now if we could replaced the Disney characters with originals, it'd be perfect.

Super Smash Bros. - BEST. FIGHTING. SERIES. EVAR!

MegaMan(X through ZX, Battle Network) - IMO, the best side-scrolling games, I was never disappointed with the storylines or characters. Battle Network was fun, had a nice RPG feel to it.(Boktai Crossovers Rule!) :slaugh:

Tales Of(Series) - Very good series, fun to play, I had a load of fun playing Tales of the Abyss, which turned out to be my favorite and I am currently playing Symphonia.

Tetris - Fun.

bwahahaha \o/

I must add something to this list...

Touhou~!
Because it's music is divine and if you don't die from a seizure, you're still unlikely to never beat it XD;

(btw this is a really really good topic. I think the revival is ok)

But his post was very meaningful.... revival approved, just so you know.

I have to say....

Klonoa - my first ever PS game. Boy I loved this cute little critter and I played... and played... and played.... again and again no matter how much times I've beaten the game, or Balue's Tower, it was just so much fun! You could say Klonoa opened me to the gaming world. :D
