I'm fine with Omega-Xis,but I hate the name Geo.That's why I'm naming him Subaru in mine (I'm getting the game tomorrow,I would have got it the day it came out,but I'm not very interested in it since most of you say it sucks) |

...you hate it because Megaman looks stupid. Do you have any idea how PATHETIC that is? Take note that the Classic series was made in the 1980s when 8-bits and gaming was new and exciting. They didn't have that stupid fancy crap we have now a days. Because, the way a character dashes and the way he looks doesn't reflect on the game itself. Battle Network is atrociously boring. I want a Megaman game to run around and blow crap up. I don't want insanely long dialogue to sit through with really annoying characters. The battle system just repeated the same things over and over, fighting a boss as a random encounter was just Capcom's way of screwing people over. On top of that, the character designs suck. The only exceptions I'll make is Tomahawkman and Quickman, because they atleast look SOMEWHAT like they used to. (But there's one thing I have to thank Capcom for, and that's not touching Centaurman and putting him in a BN game. If they did, they'd ruin his design and make me cry again like they did to Snakeman.) Star Force looks like a 3D repeat of BN. And the only good design is Ophichus Queen, which I mainly say that because I like nagas. No words can describe how much I hate Zero and ZX (But I'm willing to give ZXA a try, atleast, since Capcom apparently says they'll atleast do more this time.) I don't see how people can like those games. Capcom's just milking Megaman for all its worth now. Of course, I probably say this because I grew up along with brothers who played the good Megaman games. (I will still never come to understand how they have such amazing skills at Classic and X. Classic mainly. Watching them play still amazes me. @_@) |

Wha? How is that any different from doing the EXACT SAME THING through the Classic and X series? I also prefer playing a game with an actual plot, rather than just mindless explosions, despite being a guy. Most of the things you mentioned can be said about any other series and that just makes it look too out there for me to take seriously. (Except for the random encounter boss. That was just stupid.) |

Hey. X series rocks. Period. Music is freaking mindblowingly awesome. Zero series is for the hardcore Zero fans and perfectionists, which I am sadly both =/ See it as a test to be absolutely perfect in a game. Darn ranking systems and that stupid fancy colored S.....Music was amazing too. ZX, I admit blew. But it had great music. ZXA sucks. Horribly. And so does Star Force >> |

I knew someone would counter with that. My point is, Classic and X don't bore me to death like Battle Network does. They have actual level designs with enemies that you just shoot n' go. I want THAT for my Megaman games, not run around on boring, twisting, easy-to-get-lost-in maps and get annoyed all to hell from all of the random encounters. If I want an RPG, I'll go play Final Fantasy 7/Tactics. If Battle Network was an original game concept and not a Megaman game, maybe I'd actually say something good about it. But I've played all the games, and I can't stand them at all. Plus the battle chips and panels were just annoying to deal with. How the hell am I supposed to beat a boss that takes up all but three of my panels and has an attack that covers all three of those? I just prefer good old fashioned 'blow crap up as I feel like' Megaman games than them trying to add the RPG and strategy aspect to it. Besides, the only good thing BN did for me was made me find out about Boktai. And it wasn't through playing BN4, either. >_> |

I agree with mikamyrado on this. It's not so much a problem with the game as it is a problem with the set-up. MMBN has the lowest fan support of those people who played Megaman from the beginning. I shouldn't have to hope that I can use that boss' power as my chips are sorting themselves out, I should just be able to switch to it, blast it, and go. The Megamans on the nes were exciting through their repition the same way a Dynasty Warriors is. I can fight the Yellow Turbans fifteen times in a row, it won't make me any less interested in hunting out their generals one by one. Also the stories on the nes, while not deep, were there, we all watched as Rock faced the ever growing question of his place in the world. And when we finally got to super nes where we could afford room for a story in the game, we saw Megaman come to the realization that he was no mere robot. The X series always had a strong and good-willed storyline while keeping the classic gameplay alive. Of course that series started to hit a decline as of X5 and got outright rediculous as of X7, but it doesn't make the others any less good. Most importantly, I never found myself getting bored of the series, as it was always action packed. The only Battle Network I can stand playing is transmission, and thats because it still keeps a lot of the classic gameplay from Megaman in it. And while most bosses left you with nary a second to react and no margin for error, it was able to separate the players with skill and those with none. You feel a real sense of accomplishment whenever you survive an encounter with the blob, because you knew that it was nothing but skill that kept you alive. Getting each of those S ranks in the Z series, you knew they weren't given lightly, but because you earned them, refusing to even level up your character to earn those rewards. Battle Network requires more luck than skill, and even then there are ways to cheap out of a battle if your luck doesn't favor you on that day. And while this statement will be met with much animosity, if you complain about the old Megaman games, I hold it in firm belief, that your complaints aren't because you think they are a bad game, a terrible series, horrid storyline with baseline decent characters. You dislike them because you can't beat them, You lack the skill to succeed where others have. They're too hard and you can't handle it. Congratulations, you've earned us the special edition of Devil May Cry 3. You are the failing reason, giving up rather than improving. |

(I'm going to assume that was directed at me.) I never said anything about not being able to beat them, I complained about them having ridiculous things to them that any other idiot could do. Samus could aim above her, why the hell couldn't Rock? It's not an extra challenge, it's just annoying. Have to agree partially on EXE being about luck, since the whole battlechip thing comes into play, but I still find it more fun than JUMP, SHOOT, JUMP, SHOOT over and over again. Just the other day, I played through Rockman 2 and found myself dissapointed. Maybe it's because I played on normal mode, but I found myself never using the bosses' abilities to fight, since the Rockbuster's unlimited and does the same thing better. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they're terrible games, I'm just saying I don't like them like EXE. Too many annoying things plague Classic and X that just don't make them enjoyable to me. |

I agree with Blues... i remember about three years ago.. i played Megaman X4.. and MAN was it hard... i was right at the last level where you have to fight all 8 bosses again.. and i couldnt beat Dragoon >_> stupid street fighter moves.. >_< I HATED IT!!! STUPID POWER-UPS DONT DO !! Yeah! They dont do Spam!!!Tch... I.d rather play a game with an actual plot anyday! That game made me waste most of my time... its not fair.. i want it back.. ;_; |
