Wii Zapper

Who decided to go out and pick one of these up?

I bought two. I had a Wii Blaster (third party accessory that was made to look like a shotgun, it looks good, but the playability either has you holding a shotgun awkward or using the Wii Remote and Nunchuck in the wrong hands), needless to say, I didn't like it much. So I was a little worried about this one. But it turns out it works very well (I bought the second the day after the first). There are two main ways to use it, either with the nunchuck in the holster, which allows for a more tight control and stronger guncon feel; or with the nunchuck detached in held in your left hand, which feels like you're holding a pistol with a stock attached, albeit a stock made for a child, so it just runs along the inside of your arm.

Either way it feels really good, it has made playing RE: UC worlds more enjoyable. Only drawback, is if you're using the recharging station from Nyko your Wii Remote won't fit into the actuall Zapper, but other than that I'm loving it.

Seems useless to me. At Best Buy I saw a useless bunch of golf club, tennis racket, and baseball bat attachments for Wii remotes.

Well I think they are made so people actually think that they are playing the real thing, or of course if people are willing to pay for it then they will keep on making it. Like some companies squeeze the money out of some series of games.

Its kind of useless, but at the same time, not at all.

Consider the way Zero held a gun in Megaman Z, thats how it feels to hold a Wii Zapper.

Not only that but the game controls are changed depending if you are using a Wii Zapper or not. That makes it more than just an ornament, it makes it an actual usable accessory.

I found playing Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles kinda annoying, the whole A button really through the game for a loop, as silly as it sounds. But after getting the Wii Zapper I've found new love for the game.

You really need to see one in action and try it out before you say it is a stupid idea.

It also comes with Link's Crossbow Training, a game. For only $25 its not a bad deal.

Nintendo makes the Wii Zapper and they know what they're doing. Unlike all of those gimmicky sports packs the zapper is actually functional and lots of fun to use.

If you plan on picking up Ghost Squad, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Medal of Honor Heroes 2, or just want to try Link's Crossbow Training, I strongly suggest buying the Wii Zapper.

I was going to get one for Link's Crossbow Training, but then I heard it wasn't a very good game. Guess I'll just keep waiting for a Duck Hunt sequel.

Quick question: I'm using the Nyko charger, but no parts stick out of the Wiimote compared to the normal battery cover. How does it stop it from fitting into the Zapper?

Actually, the battery back for the Nyko charger has a slight bulge to it, I believe its for either the rubber or because of the size of the battery pack... Nyko usually messes something up somewhere... Nintendo needs to come out with a rechargeable battery...

Anyways, it won't fit by like a fraction of a millimeter, even when pushing down with max pressure, believe me I tried.

Link's Crossbow Training isn't a great game, I equate it with Wiiplay if Wiiplay was only the tin can game.

I mean, you can move around and stuff. And its kinda fun, like what Link does in his spare time when Ganon isn't running around. You're also collecting the nine shards of the triforce... I dunno what happens if you collect them all though...

Bottom line: Link's Crossbow Training is a nice addition and a welcome bonus to the Wii Zapper, but it shouldn't be the only reason to get one. If you're planning on getting one of the aforementioned titles, but know it will be some time, it provides some use for your Zapper in the meantime, but it shouldn't be the only use you plan to get from it.
