Actually a friend of mine works at a Wal-Mart in Michigan and he says they received a large shipment of Wiis, put them out at the start of his shift, and they were all sold out before his shift was over. He works from 10pm to 7am so imagine what happens when they are put out during daytime hours.

I'm so glad that I already own one. :slaugh:

That's weird, because I have a friend (well technically he's my brother's friend) , Joey Yoder, Who works there too and the same state and hours. Plus he said the same thing to me and my brother.

I'm glad I got my Wii early too, I got one from one of the first shipments of them.

Yeah? That's a funny coincidence. My friend, Alan Brouhm, lives in Clare, MI. Doesn't surprise me though, most Wal-Marts probably get their Wiis on the same days.

I got my Wii in April for my birthday.

I camped out in the freezing cold on launch day. I don't regret it one bit.

I was 9th on a list of 8 to pre-order it where I lived. Lucky for me they couldn't confirm things with one of the guys, so I got it on launch... I'm kinda regretting that I didn't sell it for double the price when I had the chance (There was a few more in stock like a month or two later)

1338 shut up. If you hate it so much, then get rid of your Wii.

The Wii's a dangerous beast, truly...

It's too novel. It's great that Nintendo wants to expand the market and make gaming more accepted...but the casuals picking up the system really only get it for Wii Sports, and possibly Wii Play before ignoring it. The ratio of software to systems sold is absolutely frightening, and likely means that within two years, those who didn't buy it for games (read; gamers), will likely be re-gifting them, or just throwing them all on GameStop. That'll flood the market, and by then, there will only be a few real gamers left that want them, and may just get them off GameStop rather than new.

This will be bad for Nintendo, to be sure, but they have their current sales to fall back on. The only glimmer of hope I see in this is a major it to GameStop, who will be unable to re-sell the majority of their used Wii stock.

I got my Wii on launch day, played through zelda, and apart from random bouts of Wario Ware, I dont think I touched the thing for nearly a year, till I got Metroid Prime 3 that is.

No, I'm just pissed at Nintendo for promising the ability to download demos to your DS long before the Wii was released, finally making good on that promise over in Japan, and not releasing the feature over here.
