Sooo..... I chose the Sci-Fi and Fantasy English subject option this year, and only to be faced that we'll be doing Bladerunner as our film study this year. Not a nice thought.

But the good thing is, that our teacher is really nice and is open to suggestions! The bad thing is, the film can't be some random movie that doesn't have deeper meanings/symbolism etc, it has to have those thigns so we can do a study it on and write an essay about in our end of year exam. D:

PS, the movie has to have a Sci-fi fantasy genre.

Soooooo..... suggestions?

Castle in the Sky by Hayou Miyazaki.
It's sci-fi-ish, anime, and has a deep plot. Definitely go with that ;)

Red Dwarf, best Sci-Fi ever.

Oh, movie? No Idea >.>. Well there is Mystery Science theater 3k, they make fun of terrible movies (you watch the whole thing) and they did do a movie... which was really them just watching a movie, but still.... They have 1013 episodes (not kidding, I watched the final episode yesterday)

Although I don't think it has that deep of a meaning it's a really good Sci-fi movie/series.

Stargate is fun <_<
I didn't watch much, but its pretty great

The one I watched the most was Stargate Atlantis, because of the convenient time it was aired

Tron, it's a Disney and a sci-fi.

And what's so bad about Bladerunner? >>

Disney= Teh gay.

Scifi...

I highly recommend Godzilla x MechaGodzilla. It's by far the most intense (and my favorite) Godzilla movie. It's rather sad since Mechagodzilla in this movie is actually the original Godzilla, so it's basically son vs. father in this movie. Very sad when you think about it.

Here's a link to a quick summary of the movie: http://www.tohokingdom.com/movies/godzilla...chagodzilla.htm

I,personally, like the original stargate because of the story. Atlantis has a better air time but I just don't like the wraith. O'neil and Tealc are my favorite characters. O'neil cause of his sarcastic sense of humor and Tealc cause of how clueless he is.

Actually, Star Wars is loosely based on Greek Mythology XD

Don't ask me how. I heard it on a documentary.

Backing Copain's comment, lord of the rings is not sci-fi. It's fantasy.
and @ Xaxn, Harry Potter is fantasy too, not sci-fi.
