 Taro, who thought that Suzume was close to her breaking point, was disappointed to see that she was still as cheerful as ever. His original plan was to provoke Suzume and to make her say something rude, so that he could report it to Ran-chan and gain the shy class president’s sympathy. But no such luck, Suzume unfortunately kept her cool and continued to exchange “pleasantries” with him. Apparently she was not planning to give in. Perhaps he should call it a draw for the time being…?

“Awww that’s a pity, Suzu-chin!” Taro nodded understandingly and put the unloved hyacinth back into his pocket with a shrug. “Believe me, Suzu-chin, there’s no girl in the world who is worthier of the hyacinth than you.” Although he had a look of regret on his face, the tone in which he spoke was dry and duplicitous. “I’m sorry that your uncle is rather allergic to these flowers – but don’t be sad, next time I will make sure to give you a white hyacinth made of plastic ~ ♥”

"U-uh..thank you, Katagiri-kun..."

Taro was completely ravished by the shy girl’s stuttering and couldn’t help but to beam at Ran-chan. His plan to provoke Suzume might have failed, but at least he had succeeded in making Ran blush. He chuckled leeringly and almost squished the hyacinth in his pocket. His elated mood lasted for the next ten minutes and even Suzume’s present couldn’t dampen it. He just watched Ran-chan handing over the present and cheerfully said,

"Oho, a present from Yamazaki-kun? Not bad, Suzu-chin, congratulations!"
