I'm currently re-reading Pascal Mercier's "Lea". It's a really good book - though I dunno whether it's available in English or not. Anyway, I highly recommend it! Plot: The story starts with the 8-years-old girl Lea, who slowly retreats in her own world after the death of her mother. Her father, Martijn van Vliet, is perplexed because he can't seem to help her. When Lea hears the sound of a violin, it changes her whole life. She returns to reality again and proves her amazing musical talent. In the age of 18, everyone in the music scene adores her. But her father who was overjoyed in the beginning, feels more and more lonely. Desperately, he tries to win the favour of his dauhter back and commits a crime...And his daughter's soul blackens as well and lets her do something which is going to destroy her. |

I'm not really reading anything right now, mostly because school is in progress and it doesn't really leave any time for leisure reading >.< If I read anything, it'll be when I'm studying *sigh* Still, I have a book on my night table if I have a few minutes to read before I go to sleep. Right now, it's my friend's copy of Sabriel by Garth Nix (I left my own copy at home). I've already read it but I'm re-reading it because it's such an awesome book ![]() Here's a summary from Wikipedia (because I suck at writing summaries...)

I'm reading Kubo Tite's manga Zombie Powder. It was his first work but he never finished it so there are only 4 volumes. My friend's sister bought them and so I'm borrowing them for now. I really wish Kubo Tite finished it because it's not that bad. I still prefer Bleach but yeahh...T_T I love Gamma!!
I always hated those kinds of projects because the quality of the movie depended on the ability of the group members to work a video camera and whether or not they could edit it properly (of course, with me and my friends, we never could xD). We once had to act out a scene our teacher assigned to us from Macbeth (it was my second favourite Shakespeare play I studied in high school). I got to be a witch and got to chant that "Double, double, toil and trouble" thing. I can't remember what we used as a cauldron, though...I think it was a garbage can... Anyway, it was so much fun!

I started to read Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. I heard that it was good and bad. What do you guys think about this book? @Kotoko: At first, the movie seemed like it was going to be a pain, but after working everything out, it was really fun. I got to meet some new people and now I'm really close to them. We got a 90% on that project, so we all went out to eat crawfish! Whoo! |

I'm on my Reading Week, which means I get a break from school! That means I have time to actually read for fun rather than read for research or to study So I picked up the book "Seeker" by William Nicholson, the first of the Noble Warriors Trilogy. I read another trilogy by William Nicholson a few years ago and loved it and this is his latest. So far so good! William Nicholson, by the way, also helped with the screenwriting for the movie "Gladiator". I love his writing style. It's very descriptive and inspiring but simple at the same time. |

There's a 15 minute reading session at my high school and it is required for you to have a book with you during that time. Otherwise, you would get a detention for not following the rules. I forgot to bring mine one day, so I took a random book in the choir room [that room is a mess! I found a book within seconds of searching.] I picked up Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks. I never thought that I would actually like it. It's very beautiful, indeed. :) |

*attempts to revive the thread* I'm currently working my way (very slowly) through Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time series. It's not very well known, which might explain why I was really happy when I found out that two of the members at my school's Writers' Club also read it. ^^" [Revival Attempt: Failed.] *bricked* |

Has anyone ever read Twilight? I heard it was a really good book, but I haven't had the time to go to the bookstore to read it. I need a new book to read. I already finished Nights in Rodanthe. I'm just rereading it for the time being. |

Twilight was pretty good, but when I looked into it again, I found that it was really lacking something I wanted. Currently I am reading through Romeo and Juliet in English class. Oh how I wish Mercutio hadn't of died. As a character I really did like him. Sure he was a bit of a snob, but he provided whitty banter.

Everyone's reading very smart-sounding books... ![]() I'm planning on reading Twilight, but the blurb didn't really interest me that much. ^__^;; Currently I'm working my way through Parasite Eve by Hideaki Sena. I finished the Ring series by Koji Suzuki and the spin-off Birthday. I'm really into medical-mystery-horror genres. I've also just borrowed a book called 'Strangers' also by a Japanese author whose name I can't remember just yet. Haven't started reading though... ![]() My school's literature books are 'Emily of Emerald Hill' which is a play only Malaysia and Singapore have heard of, 'Island Voices' also a Singaporean book and 'The Giver' by an author whose name I've also forgotten... Seems interesting though. ^_^ |

I've heard a lot about Twilight but never picked it up. Supposedly, it's very good *shrugs* Currently, I'm reading "The Witch of Portabello" by Paulo Coelho (the author of "The Alchemist"). So far so good, but I wouldn't say it's the most exciting book I've ever read ^^;; As for manga, I picked up Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle. I tried watching the anime last year but stopped near the end of season 1 because of exams and just never picked it back up again. But I'm a huge xxxHolic fan and it's begun to cross over a lot with TRC so I decided to read the TRC manga so I can understand what's going on in xxxHolic
