Do you play an instrument? If yes, which one and for how long?: Used to play the piano, 2 years

How often will you be able to role-play?: Hopefully, at least once a week. I have homework and I have big projects to do. I also might be playing video games ;] But that's for the weekdays. I'll probably RP like crazy on the weekends.

Character Goals- I'd like Hanako to befriend Hyuga Katsuo, and have him consider her as a rival. I also want Hanako to be more close to her father and show him how wonderful classical music is. Also, I'd like to have Hyuga Katsuo see Hanako break down in tears, so then he would have to cheer her up. >:] [I love rival love] The most important goal that I want Hanako to accomplish, is for her to realize that she doesn't have to work so hard or to strive so much to be better than everyone else. Her clarinet skills are beyond average and maybe be a bit into the expert range. She should learn to enjoy music more and have fun while playing it, not work herself to the limit to become better.

Character Name: Kobayashi Hanako

Which school does your character attend (see above)?: Ueno

Instrument your character plays: Clarinet

Character Looks
Hanako has light green hair, flowing down a few inches under her shoulder. Her bangs are shoved messily to the side, but it fits her physique. She sometimes puts her hair in braids or pigtails. She is 5 foot 5, and she likes to wear shirts where it covers her hands and short skirts. She dislikes just wearing skirts, so she wears short pants underneath the skirts. She wears long, lavendar socks, that reach all the way up to her thigh, and she wears shoes that give her a boost of one more inch. Her eyes are bluish purple and they are wide, and innocent looking. She doesn't wear any make-up because she thinks it's "unnecessary." She always wears a choker necklace, which is her prized possession. The choker necklace is colored green and silver, and attached to it is a golden star locket. Inside is a picture of her and her sensei when she was 8. She doesn't let ANYONE touch the necklace, and she doesn't like to talk about it either. She doesn't wear earrings nor bracelets and rings. The only exception of jewelry for her is the choker.

Character Personality
Kobayashi Hanako is the preppy girl who wants to be better than anyone. She is over competitive and she enjoys playing the clarinet while competing. Her lively personality is somewhat annoying, but sometimes she brings up the mood with it. She gets stubborn when something doesn't end up her way, like a child and is sometimes selfish. Though she acts rude and hyper, she understands people and sometimes feels what they're feeling. Whenever Hanako is upset, she doesn't show it. She pretends everything is fine, and puts her friends first instead of her. She is especially vulgar to Hyuga Katsuo since he's the prodigy in Ueno, just like her. She sometimes speaks nonsense when she is very happy or very angry. If she is angry, she will do anything to make her happy again. For example, if someone said she sucks at playing the clarinet, she will even go by far of knocking the person out.
Now however, after meeting a few students here and there, Hanako starts to learn to become more courteous. She still gets furious and obnoxious at times, but her personality has changed more that before.

Other Relationships
Hyuga Katsuo- Hanako consinders herself as Hyuga Katsuo's "arch rival." She bugs him all the time, giving him death glares. She believes that Katsuo is the most mean, annoying, stuck-up musician in the world. He makes fun of her and she begins to hate him more and more. Deep down, Hanako wants to be friends with him. She just now decides to call him Katsu-kun, for an unknown reason.

Yamamoto Kimiko- Hanako begins and tries to befriend her, the girl who says what's on her mind, because she decided to make more friends. She usually calls her either Ya-chan or Ki-chan, but usually calls her Ki-chan. Kimiko is the complete opposite of Hanako, and Hanako doesn't think there's anything wrong with that.

Masaoka Shinji- Hanako, at first, thought her senpai was the most meanest, cold-hearted [even more than her] person she ever met. But, after changing her personality a little to make her senpai enjoy her presence more, Hanako was able to see Shinji smile and now thinks greatly of him.

Matsumoto Nobu- Hanako thinks her senpai as the "cool" one. She usually calls him "Nobu-cchi" which, in return, he calls her "Koba-yan." Hanako didn't think there was anything wrong with Nobu since she was always on his good side, but when she saw his bossiness when he was sick, Hanako lowered her expectations a little.

Oikawa Marui- Hanako's beloved sensei. She respects him, and even loves him to death. He was Hanako's elementary teacher when she was 8. Oikawa had a special place in Hanako's heart. His presence shaped up how Hanako is now. Oikawa plays the flute, so he teaches Hanako how to blow into the clarinet when she was 8. Oikawa had a disease, and didn't tell Hanako until it became serious and he had to quit teaching and the flute. He slowly died a painful death. Hanako had never seen her sensei ever since Oikawa resigned from her school.

Arai Momo- Hanako met this shy and nervous girl when she has upset. Arai Momo was running away from her orphanage because people were making fun of her. Momo was a crying 4 year-old when they met, and Hanako was a 5 year-old. Being the lively girl she was, she made a joke and Momo's sad frown turned upside down. Momo attends Senzoku Academy, and they sometimes meet up to talk.

Kobayashi Mimiko- As Hanako's mother, she is sometimes annoyed at how competitive her daughter can be and how much she could play the clarinet without stopping, but she still loves her very much. She doesn't really care about music as much as Hanako, but she still supports her the entire way. Mimiko will not stop Hanako from playing her clarinet because she knows that it's her choice, her decision, her dream.

Kobayashi Tsukasa- He is Hanako's father, and works at a prestigous company known as Furu Entertainment. Furu Entertainment produces CD albums for top music artists. Tsukasa is the manager of a top artist, Aoi Yamada. Since he has to be with her all the time, he doesn't care about how Hanako is doing. When he comes home from work, he doesn't talk to his own daughter. He doesn't like classical music, but he never had the heart to tell her that, though Hanako already knows.

Character Biography
Kobayashi Hanako is a 16 year old 2nd year attending Ueno Academy. Playing the clarinet since she was 8, she has become quite fond of music. Her first name means "the flower." Hanako is a very lively and curious little child and she wanted everything. When she said, "I want a teddy bear!" her parents usually didn't give it to her. However, when she said "I want a clarinet!" her parents agreed and gave her a clarinet when she was 8. Hanako didn't want a teacher to teach her how to play the clarinet. She played all on her own, from her heart. It sounded like something was dying whenever she played, but she loved the clarinet.

In elementary school, Hanako admired her sensei, Oikawa Marui, who played a flute. She loved the sound her sensei played, and wanted to marry him when she grew up, though he was 22 and she was 8. She would often say "I love you, Oikawa-sensei!" out loud and he would get embarrassed. Hanako often stayed after school and played the clarinet to Oikawa. He felt something special in her horrid playing and taught her how to blow the clarinet properly, since it was also a windpipe instrument. When Hanako was turning 9, Oikawa gave her a choker necklace with a picture of them playing their treasured instruments. Embedded on the star locket, it said Always play with a smile.

For Christmas, Oikawa gave Hanako a new clarinet, which had a silver color to it. She was happy and played a song she made up. She made a huge improvement and Oikawa began to enjoy her music more and more. He began to think that she is a prodigy. Every day, Hanako smiled widely and blew the clarinet until her parents got angry and regretted giving her the clarinet. Then, one day, tragic news were to befall the poor 9-year-old.

"Whatever happens to me, Ha-chan," Oikawa told Hanako one day,"never stop playing the clarinet."

Hanako was dumbfounded, since she was an innocent 9-year-old. She answered with determined eyes,"I will never stop playing the clarinet, Oi-sensei! I never want to! Because sensei gave me this clarinet and sensei taught me how to play better!"

A week after that day, Oikawa resigned from the school. The principal said to Hanako that he had a note for her. It said, in a lot of kanji, that he had a disease, ever since the day they met, and the situation had become worse. He had to quit the flute, teaching, and stay at a hospital. He told her that he was going to die soon, for the disease had a high mortality rate. Hanako didn't understand half of what he wrote, but she definitely understood what was at the end of the letter.

I love you. Goodbye. Tears fell from Hanako's eyes for the word "goodbye" was very strong. She hugged the principal. Later on, she was told what is going on with Oikawa in simpler terms. She didn't cry. She didn't whine. She just smiled. "Sensei is happy...he met Hanako and he loves Hanako...he taught Hanako how to play clarinet too, so Oi-sensei doesn't regret anything...," She whispered.

From that day on, she didn't mention about Oikawa. She didn't even went to visit him. She treasured the choker necklace Oikawa gave her. She never took it off, for she was scared. If she took off the choker, the bond with her sensei might break. Hanako wanted to be a good clarinet player, because that was the only thing that Oikawa had left her. She wanted to be famous worldwide, so she practiced everyday. People began to call her a prodigy, since she became a good clarinet player in a short amount of time. Her teachers sent her to Ueno, and there stood a student in her way to fame: Hyuga Katsuo. She didn't care who he was, but she wanted to beat him, for Oikawa.

Sample RP (>=10 lines):
Kobayashi Hanako stared at the list to apply for a higher level, grinning at the peoples' names. She believed she was the best, but there was only one person who stood in her way: Hyuga Katsuo. She stopped thinking about him and wrote her name on the list. She excused herself from the room, and whistled down the hallway.

People sometimes stare at this lively fellow because she is a stuck-up prodigy. Hanako never thought of herself as a stuck-up musician, only thought of others as one. She didn't have time to think about herself. She had to get better, better than anyone else, so that her deceased and beloved Oikawa-sensei would smile at her up in the heavens.

Hanako clutched her hands, ran down the hallway, ignoring teachers' yells about not running in the hallway, and stopped at her music class. She smiled and opened the door, glancing inside if to see if anyone was around. No one was, and Hanako gleefully skipped inside. She stood by her desk and opened the box which held her shiny clarinet.

Oikawa-sensei... she thought to herself, but she nudged it away. She took a deep breath and blew into the clarinet, which produced the most beautiful sound that she has ever played. She gasped at that song she was playing, and stopped. Giggling to herself, and also snickering for she believed that she was better than her "arch rival" Hyuga Katsuo now, and continued playing the harmonious tune which made her want to continue playing.
