Name, Age: Momo-chan, 13 Do you play an instrument? If yes, which one and for how long?: Acoustic guitar, around two years; Violin, a beginner :P How often will you be able to role-play?: Everyday for the rest of my life... hopefully. Character Name: Tezuka Daisuke-cchi Which school does your character attend (see above)?: Toho Gakuen Instrument your character plays: Piano Character Description: Physical Appearance Daisuke has short, black spiky hair, and is about 183 cm tall, with black-blue eyes. He looks like a common Japanese national. His hair is always messed up, and the reason he gives is that he 'forgets' to comb it. His clothes are usually rumpled and creased because he likes leaning against tables, walls, etc. while reading. He likes wearing baggy clothes and no socks, after his favourite character from a manga ('Life Note'). To make a good impression on people (or so he assumes), Daisuke wears glasses with glass instead of lenses during important events like interviews. During music competitions, he is usually forced to wear formal wear, which he seriously dislikes. He is reasonably good-looking, but not good-looking enough to earn him legions of fans, which he constantly laments about. Personality; Character Traits The first word people use to describe Daisuke's personality is usually 'lazy'. He tries to use every minute of his free time to relax, and because he's claustrophobic, he assumes it gives him enough reason not to practise (the practice rooms are quite small). Even if he doesn't practise, his skills, amazingly, don't deteriorate. Whenever someone asks him a question, he's very passive, usually replying with one-word answers like 'Whatever' or 'Anything'. He's only serious about things other people might find weird, like Animecons or sales on melon-pan. He only talks a lot when with his duet partner Nakamura Chika or his girlfriend Murata Emiri. Recently Daisuke has also taken a shine to his senior Wakabayashi Suzaku. After being influenced by his sister (a mangaka), Daisuke became addicted to manga, even occasionally reading shoujo manga as well. He carries around a stack of manga wherever he goes. Daisuke seems to enjoy copying the characters from various manga or anime, and he begged his parents to let him learn the piano when he was eleven. He also knows how to sew, knit, cook and clean because his busy sister (he refers to her as a 'grimy slob') needs someone to look after her. Since his sister never lets him read the manuscripts for her popular manga (or which he is a big fan), he is forced to buy the volumes reluctantly. He constantly bugs his sister to let him follow her to parties with the anime seiyuus but she never agrees. He's almost always late for school, because he forgets to set his alarm clock. His house is only a few blocks away from the school, so he runs there when he finally manages to wake up. His attitude towards music is constantly looked down upon, since he only practises when he feels like it. Daisuke can never practise in school (he's afraid of the music rooms) unless he's with Chika, so he practises at home. Once, one of his 'urges to practise' came at school, when Chika was absent, and he attempted to lug the piano up to the roof, a failure which resulted in a sprained ankle. His friend once suggested that he keep the door open while he practised, but when Daisuke tried it, the door slammed shut due to a strong gust of wind. He was too shaken up to open the door, and screamed his head off until someone heard and let him out. Daisuke is also in the school tennis team of Toho Gakuen. He barely attends the practices, but due to their lack of members, he hasn't been thrown off the team yet, though his coach constantly threatens to replace him. Relationships Family: Tezuka Miyuki, 24: Daisuke's older sister. She's an accomplished mangaka with seven popular works, two of which were made into anime with multiple seasons. The penname she uses is 'Tezuka Yuuki'. She draws shounen manga, and once named a very annoying character in her manga after her little brother. Sometimes, when Daisuke does something really irritating, she locks him in the bathroom until he starts scrabbling at the door to beg for forgiveness. She forced Daisuke to refer to her as 'Miyuki-oneesama'. When hungry and struggling to finish the new chapters, she gets very cranky and will only stop after being fed. She bought Daisuke his first piano when he moved in with her as her personal maid. Since their family had not been well-to-do enough to buy him a piano after his piano lessons ended, Daisuke had been practicing on pianos found in random music stores, pretending to test them out. He never visited the same music store twice, and thus was never caught. Tezuka Daichi, 45, Tezuka Misato, 44: Daisuke's parents. They are currently doing business abroad (they run a small trading company), and will most likely not return home for a few years. They entrusted Daisuke to Miyuki despite numerous protests from the former. Friends: Nakamura Chika, 15: They share a close friendship, though Chika seems to be fond of dragging him around. Daisuke is Chika's current accompanist. Daisuke only seems to be able to stand being in a practice room when he's practising with Chika, though not for much longer than the usual. Murata Emiri, 15: She has been Daisuke's girlfriend since two years ago. She is shy and very polite, with cute looks. She goes to Kadokawa Gakuen, a school near Toho which focuses on math and science. Daisuke attended the same middle school as Emiri, where they fell in love. She's also a manga fan, and provides Daisuke with shoujo manga.Matsumoto Nobu, 17: Nobu was Daisuke's very nice senpai during middle school (a private school). They kind of lost connections with each other after a few years. (This was already discussed with Rieko. )Wakabayashi Suzaku: Daisuke had some kind of fangirlish admiration for him ever since he was saved by Suzaku in a practice room. Daisuke is crazy about him, but not to the point of shounen-ai. Sample RP: Note: If I can't parody a manga, please tell me... Daisuke, armed with five, brand-new, tightly-wrapped volumes of manga, finally managed to reach into his pocket for his house key, a difficult feat with both hands full. Balancing the books on his forearms, he unlocked the front door of his home and squeezed inside. "Tadaima," As usual, the house was in a mess. Balls of paper were strewn over the floor and sheets of tone backing were scattered everywhere. Sitting at the dining table, hunched over the table, was his sister, Miyuki. Her left hand, gripping a pencil tightly, was moving so fast over a piece of paper, it looked like it would catch fire. Sighing, Daisuke shuffled into his own room, muttering 'grimy slob' over and over again under his breath. Then again, she did have a deadline to meet. The upright piano leaning against the wall opposite from the window gleamed in the faint orange glow of the setting sun. His curtains billowed in the slight breeze. It was almost seven and Miyuki would be expecting dinner anytime. Sighing, Daisuke laid the stack of manga on his desk before leaving the room for the kitchen. He opened the door of the fridge and looked inside. It was empty aside from something unrecognisable in a container shoved at the back of the vessel. Resolving to remember to buy groceries after coming back from the bookstore, he closed the door, albeit disappointedly. It would have to be instant ramen, unless he ran down to the convienience store for two bentous. "Daisuke, is dinner ready?" called Miyuki from the living room. "Um, just a few minutes," he replied, extracting the two cups of instant ramen from the kitchen cupboards. Miyuki could get pretty cranky when hungry, so he would have to finish 'cooking' fast. He poured boiling water into the cheap plastic cups in record time, set one down on his sister's worktable, then brought the other up to his room, wincing at the hot surface against his skin. Taking care to leave the door open and hold it there with the doorstop, he set the cup on his desk. At last, he could sit back and appreciate the new volumes. Well, they weren't exactly new since he'd read the new chapters from the monthly manga magazines, but he had bought them anyway. Slurping a strand or two of noodles every minute or so, Daisuke flipped the pages slowly, savouring the art and storyline. His eyes wandered past the page and onto the upright piano. It had been a birthday gift from his sister. She had been in a good mood after she heard that her manga was getting an anime, and probably bought it on a whim. Sighing, he left his volume on the table after marking his page with a bookmark and lifted the lid covering the keys. Daisuke searched his mind for the notes of the only song he memorised properly: Pachelbel's Canon in D major. The tone of the song suited his current frame of mind; calm and carefree like the lilting melody of the ever-echoing notes. It was soothing to the ears; the piece was played to almost perfection. "Oi," He slammed a fist onto the keys, making an extremely unpleasant noise. Miyuki covered her ears. "What?" Daisuke asked, mildly embarrassed. Wordlessly, his sister placed a thick sheaf of paper on the piano bench, then left the room. Daisuke examined one of the pieces closely. It was the manuscript for the newest chapter of Miyuki's manga, BREACH. Eyes now slowly growing wider, he grabbed the stack of manga paper and trudged over to his 'reading desk', completely forsaking the piano. After all, Canon was Miyuki's favourite piece. --- 24/12/2007 EDIT: Added the tennis info. 04/01/2008 EDIT: Added information about relationship with Matsumoto Nobu. 26/02/2008 EDIT: Added Daisuke's new friends: Wakabayashi Suzaku, Tanaka Sakura, Arai Momo and Kobayashi Hanako Edited by NIKI, Jun 16 2008, 04:00 AM.
