Character Description - Please keep in mind that you are allowed to add as much detail as you want to your character

Physical Appearance
Kimiko stands at 161 cm (around 5'3") and is somewhat underweight for her size. Her skin tone borders on sickly pale, which seems fitting for someone prone to stomache pains. Her black hair reaches the middle of her back, which she keeps most of it tied together in a low, loose ponytail. There are two clumps of hair that are too short for the ponytail, so she lets them hang in front of her shoulders. Her bangs part above her left eye, their bottom fringes just barely poking into her vision. There seem to be some blonde highlights in her bangs and the two clumps of hair, most likely due to her brothers' influences. Her eyes are a greyish onyx in color; she suffers from slight astigmatism, but manages to get around fine without the aid of glasses.

Even though she doesn't mind the school uniform, she tends to avoid wearing skirts, dresses, or anything fancy out in public. Her typical outfit when not at school normally comprises of a pair of jeans and a shirt that is usually a little too big for her.

Character Traits
It would be fair to say Kimiko grew up with much influence from movies. Her favorite films have always been those about the samurai during Feudal Japan, quite fitting for someone named "noble child." Like most children, she used to act as though she was an ideal character, adopting the mannerisms and thoughts of the said character. Over time, she began to "grow into" the role, developing the public image of a humble and self-sacrificing individual. She's willing to lend an ear and a helping hand to her peers, and always speaks on respectful terms with others. Well, maybe a little too respectful; people have yet to hear her address someone, even a long-time acquaintance, with a familiar honorific (e.g. "-chan").

As she strives to reform herself, she won't hesitate to point out what she considers her flaws. Unfortunately, she has some degree of difficulty expressing ill will towards others (at least, not out loud, anyway). Usually, whenever something upsets her, she will just simply bite her lip and remain silent, not wanting to "burden others" with her troubles.

As far as music goes, her playing doesn't seem to compare well with others. In truth, she can play the trumpet as well as some of her fellow trumpeters, but chooses not to (as a passive way of opposing her parents' wish). Her public performances are usually ridden with mistakes, with the majority of those mistakes being intentional. In her mind, this might convince her parents not to push her too much towards a musically-inclined career. However, when alone and in the right mood, she plays with honest feelings, despite the occassional mistake, and does seem to truly enjoy playing the trumpet. She tries to hide this fact from everyone, including her parents. The only people who are aware of her act are her brothers (she suspects them of spying on her during one of her private practices).

Relationships

Yamamoto Osamu and Yamamoto Natsumi
Kimiko's overbearing parents. Despite their professions (Osamu is a historian while Natsumi works as a hostess at an onsen resort for tourists), they seem to have taken a liking to the idea of having one of their children become a professional musician, but their insistence on having their children pursue careers in classical music has put a strain in the family's relationship.

Yamamoto Ryou and Yamamoto Yuuma
Twins at birth and Kimiko's older brothers by 4 years. They attended Ueno Gakuen years before, where they gained a reputation for their carefree and jesting personalities. Despite the fact that they barely graduated, they have decided to pursue a career in music, but not in the way the parents had in mind. Now, while they attend a nearby community college, the twins play in a free-lance band, Memento Mori, with three other friends, with Ryou playing the bass and Yuuma on the keyboard. As far as siblings go, the three get along very well. Of all the people that Kimiko has known, her brothers probably have the greatest impact in her life. The twins are well aware of what can make their younger sister feel uncomfortable and, as a result, enjoy teasing her about her insecurities.

Kobayashi Hanako
Kimiko's energetic classmate. Even though Kimiko does not know much about the clarinet player, it would be a lie to say she doesn't find the time spent in Hanako's presence, at the very least, amusing.

Hyuga Katsuo
Like other students, Kimiko knows him to be the school's piano prodigy. They first met in the nurse's office where, after his brief exchange with Matsumoto Nobu, she begins to hold a deep respect for him for being someone able to openly voice his opinions.

Matsumoto Nobu
Kimiko first met the upperclassman in the nurse's office, but due to his illness, the latter seemed to have a short temper. His demanding tone strongly reminded Kimiko of her parents, which left a bad impression in her mind.

Masaoka Shinji
Kimiko has yet to meet the upperclassman.

Sample RP (>=10 lines):
The school grounds were always bustling during lunch hour, and this day was no exception. Many students poured out of the stuffy classrooms and out into the school grounds to stretch and catch a bit of fresh air. Even more students ran towards the cafeteria, hoping - and failing - to avoid the usual crowd of prospective buyers. Then there were the students who cared about music the most, who had forsaken their lunches for the opportunity to practice and perfect their playing.

Even though she enjoyed music, Kimiko did not join those musically-inclined students. While the practice rooms were filled with the mixing notes of various instruments, she had retreated to the school's vacant rooftop. For several moments, she sat on one of the benches in the roof's center, staring silently down at the school grounds before turning back to the dark trumpet case lying at her side. The lid popped open and pale hands carefully lifted the instrument from its resting place. A few seconds passed before she slowly raised the instrument in front of her and, after taking a deep breath, blew into the mouthpiece.

The performance that followed was different from what other students were used to hearing from her; it wasn't the same as her various, intentionally mistake-ridden public performances. True, there were still several mistakes here and there, but now she was playing without holding back. And at the moment, with the music slowly engulfing her, her eyes shut and she felt at ease.

Just when her playing had just began to grow louder, there was a sound that did not mix well with the music: the rooftop door opening, followed by quick footsteps.

"Yamamoto-san!" A female student seemed to suddenly run out from behind a corner; there was a sense of urgency in her voice that was hard to ignore.

Kimiko had hastily blown several loud and fumbled notes when she heard the door open, hoping to mask her previous playing. "I- Inoue-san. Did something happen?" Her soft voice shook a little when she began to talk, but quickly regained its usual composure; she silently hoped that the slight trembling of her hands was unnoticeable. Did she hear...?

"I just found out that Kishi-sensei's giving us another surprise exam next period!" Fortunately, Inoue didn't seem too concerned with her classmate's playing, as she was obviously more worried about the unannounced test.

A relieved sigh escaped from Kimiko's mouth. "Is that all? I thought something worse had happened." She spoke with a small laugh while placing the trumpet back in its case. "Oh my, this will be the second test Kishi-sensei's given us this week, won't it? Well then, shall we head back to the classroom for some last-minute studying?" She turned to face her classmate, the trumpet case held securely in both hands, her head tilted a little to the right with a small smile.

"Ah- y- yes! Um... Yamamoto-san... would it be okay if you explained a few concepts to me as well?"

"Of course."

Both students immediately dashed indoors and down a few flights of stairs towards their room, carefully maneuvering between the numerous amount of students walking in the halls. While Inoue seemed completely occupied with thoughts about the exam, Kimiko's mind had wandered back to her playing and how her secret was almost exposed.

Well... at least no one heard...
