Alright, so this thread was kinda inspired from our conversation in the "What are you currently watching thread?" since we've been talking a lot about various cosplays. So here, I made this thread so that we could discuss future cosplays, give advice, share pictures/videos of good cosplays, etc. And it doesn't have to be focused on La Corda only! Cosplays from all different series are welcome. ;D

If people want to talk about anime conventions and the like, that's fine too. <3

Ahaha, how funny. I meant to make a thread about cosplaying too, but... ah, who am I kidding? I'm a lazy bum. xD

Cosplaying is fun! If not a bit costly..."|| I've only ever cosplayed as one character though, and that was as Haku from Naruto... kind of got forced into that one when I first started, but it was fun. ^^ Went to my first convention as him in '06 and was him again last year. Unfortunately, I don't have many decent pics, so how's one where my face isn't showing? xD I hope the picture isn't too big~

Haku Cosplay at Anime Expo '07
Preparation for Anime Expo '07
My mom had like... two or three inches of my hair chopped off right after the convention... and I hate nail polish..."||

A friend of mine is ordering my Kanda costume for me soon; from what I heard, it's the first exorcist outfit he's seen in (thank goodness). I'm still a little worried about his hair since my hair isn't as long as it was last year, so I might be relying on extensions. ^^"||
I fear what my friends have planned for me at the actual convention..."||
[And apparently the Allen cosplayer in our group is having hair issues. xD Just like me.]

Anyone planning on going to Anime Expo? If you are, I'd love to meet you there~ ^^

As for good cosplayers... the Tuxedo Team on deviantART. They. Are. Absolute. Cosplay. Geniuses.

Haha, great minds think alike. xD;

Cosplaying does seem like fun, but I agree: it's usually a lot of money. I've never really watched Naruto so I'm assuming Haku is the one in the green robe with the sandals? xD Excuse my lack of proper descriptions, but if it is, then it looks like a really great cosplay. I'm sure you could pull off Kanda really well. :D

As for your hair issues, I'm afraid I can't really help there. I'd suggest going with extensions, as you said. ^^" And this is kinda random, but sometimes I wonder what it'd be like with Allen's white hair. I want a wig or something and go for a day with his hair to see how people react. xD

Where is Anime Expo, by the way? -is too lazy to search it up- I'm planning on going to Otakon in Baltimore over the summer, and maybe I could go to the Expo sometime in the future...if it's anywhere near here. xD; If it's over by the west coast, then I highly doubt I could go.

I've seen some pretty amazing D.Gray-Man cosplayers. I saw this one Korean team on YouTube who pulled off a series of skits. They had lighting effects, sound effects and even blood during a scene with Tyki. It was absolutely horrifying yet amazing at the same time. And their Kanda had light sabers or something; it was really amusing. xD

Video Here

Here are some D.Gray pics from a convention in China that I thought were great:

Click

It's a Chinese forum, but if you scroll down, there's a whole bunch of pictures there. They have the actual skits on YouTube too.

WAI!

All those pictures are so awesome. It makes me want to cosplay T_T Alas, I can't sew and I'm too poor to buy a pre-made costume! *sigh*

Kurai, your Haku costume is awesome. Too bad we can't see your face xD

Those Chinese pics for DGM are great <3 I love their Krory! They didn't overdo any of the hair either - I never like it much when people overdo their hair in cosplays so that it looks fake. Those cosplayers looked like they walked right off of the screen xD

As for Anime Expo, I looked it up for you, Yian-san! It's in southern California. Unfortunately, it's way too far for me to go to but I will be going to Anime North (in Toronto) in a couple weeks - so excited!!

Omg, I know, right? Their Krory was amazing. *__* I haven't seen a better Krory than theirs. All the costumes and accessories looked so natural and well-done. I was extremely impressed with them, and their skits were really cool too (they used Japanese audio from the anime and acted along. Really cool.). I particularly liked their Earl, along with the fact that they even had the Level Two Akuma clone of Allen, and a Timcanpy. xD And I was amazed at how they got Eliade's hair to stick out like that.

Ahh, I unfortunately can't go to southern California...darn. xD I'm all the way over in the east. Ah well.

Aaaah~ Cosplay! I LOVE attending cosplay events. ^_^ I once went to one where there were five (or more) Ls from Death Note... And two of them ended up doing some sort of skit involving lollipops.

www.sgcafe.com is a good site if you want to look at cosplay, I guess... There are tips there too. :D

Sometime in June, I'm cosplaying as Echizen from TeniPuri. ^_^ *wakuwaku*

Ah...I remember that Momo! So many Ls... xD
And I might buy a PoT/Bleach cosplay outfit so I am currently very very happeh =D
However, sadly, Corda outfits are hard to find *zzz*

@Momo-chan: Haha, Death Note cosplay is always interesting. At the convention I was at, there was a girl who cosplayed as Matt one day, and L the next. She was an amazing cosplayer. *__* They formed a Death Note group, and my friend was a part of it (she was Misa).

And I want to see pictures of your Ryoma cosplay! :D

@Akane: Well, there's actually an official site that sells the Corda uniforms, but they're extremely expensive. u.u There's also a group on eBay that makes custom-made costumes for about $130 U.S. dollars, and their Corda outfits looked really nice.

I've been thinking about doing a Nodame cosplay, but I don't know if I'll ever get around to actually doing it... xD And there's a slim chance that I may cosplay a D.Gray character too.

You know... we should all just do a BNB cosplay! xD But it would be the 'take-pictures-of-yourself-in-your-own-house' and post it on the internet kind of cosplay... *fantasising*

Most of the Corda cosplayers I see on the Internet seem to order their uniforms from somewhere... I should ask around on the forums I'm on.

Ah! I got back from Anime North earlier today. It was a blast xD Didn't see any Corda cosplayers, though, but lots of Naruto, Bleach, Vampire Knight, D.Gray-man (mostly Lenalee), Death Note, and Avatar.

I was tempted to buy a costume for myself at the dealer's market at the convention but my wallet said, "NO!" But I did buy myself some cool stuff, including a pair of Mokona plushies!

Anyway, back to the actual topic: cosplaying! I saw some pretty neat ones and here are some of my favourites that I took pics of.

Ahaha, Kotoko-san, that Vincent cosplay picture made me crack up. xD I have to say though, the Cloud cosplayers are getting better this year. Two years ago, no one could pull off his hair very well (same with Sora cosplayers)...

And Kaitou-san, you make an awesome Misa~ ^^

Cosplay, cosplay~ agh, I'm getting too excited for Anime Expo already, and my finals weeks is coming up soon. ><"||

I need to fix my Haku cosplay a little (and make a new mask), and I'm hoping my friend will be able to order the Kanda costume in time. Yes, I'm being a lazy bum by letting my friend get my costume for me, but she was one of the ones who asked me to cosplay as him. Besides, she's getting her Road costume from the same person. xD *bricked*

Ah, I heard there are some problems within the D.Grey-Man cosplay group..."||

Aha, I loved the Vincent+ice cream pose, too xD I think it was my favourite. But the Cloud cosplayer....he had the perfect muscle tone for him, too, lol!!

Kaitou, awesome Misa Misa costume! It's true that you mostly see the gothic lolita version of Misa when you see cosplayers. I'm glad you did something a bit different.

Kurai, good luck with the D.Gray-man cosplay ._. I guess doing it as a group would be difficult sometimes. Me and my friends who went together to Anime North were talking about cosplaying next year. Two of the girls suggested we go as the characters from Nana but the guys in our group probably wouldn't agree xD

If I were to cosplay, I'd definitely want to go as Ichihara Yuko of the various CLAMP series, specifically her red kimono outfit. But it's so darn expensive and I couldn't make it myself because, well, I can't work with clothes because I suck like that >_> Gah!

"Oh my God, you wore that at my funeral!" Ahaha, that's a classic line xD

Apparently, there was an L and Light pair of cosplayers who were handcuffed together, too, but my friend saw them and I didn't. Ah~ how I would have loved to see that.

Random question for everyone: If you had a limitless budget, who would you most love to cosplay as?

Nice quote from L. xD

Ah, I've seen Lights and Ls handcuffed together before... maybe I've seen one too many of them. ^^"

Limitless budget... such a difficult question to answer. xD *bricked*
I can't choose one character, so I'd like to try any character I could possibly pull off... just nothing too extreme though..."||

Indeed, indeed. It was an AWESOME quote. Gotta add that to my facebook profile! xD

I've seen pictures online of handcuffed Light and L, but AB was the first time that I saw one in person -- after all that was my first con in two years and the last time I went to a con, Death Note wasn't popular in the States yet.

If I had a limitless budget... that's a tuffie. Not sure. ^^; Need to think about that.
