Character Description-

*physical appearance
Kamelia is a girl of short stature, somewhere around 5’2 ( 157 cm ). She’s very light-weight and thin, having previously suffered from problems in her personal life outside of school ( also loves dance, another reason for being small ). She has long, wavy blue-black tinted hair that hangs about to mid-back with side swept bangs. It’s usually pulled up or left down in perfect ringlets/ straight. Her eyes are a gray-violet in colour, frequently holding no or very mixed and confused emotions. The teen wears contacts much of the time, preferring to keep away from her glasses unless a contact gets ripped, lost, etc. She enjoys sweet and simple clothing, somewhat of the ‘kawaii’ good-girl fashion circulating throughout Japan and Korea, along with other Asian countries. { photo }

*character traits
Kamelia is a very friendly and somewhat loud person, but more drawn back for the fact of being scared; scared to say something wrong. She loves to sketch randomly and write down everything that happened in a small journal. She enjoys practicing her viola during the late summer/ early autumn when everything is crisp, as she likes to put it. Mainly, she’ll be down on the docks with her feet dipped in the water. The teen also loves photography and cleaning, along with books here and there. Most of the time, however, she would be caught playing a piece of music when she isn’t allowed or supposed to be doing so. Honestly doesn’t care for liars, and frequently stays quiet, in need of someone to open her up.

*relationships
Masumi Yakumo- The mother of Kamelia. It’s odd, because she wanted her two children to have separate names, and she also hadn’t wanted to give up her last name to take her husband for reasons unexplained. Kamelia has a strong relation with her mother, loving to be with her for classes concerning the fine arts. Her mother always supported her in any field she wanted to take up, always leaning whatever way the rocking chair wanted to go. It was enjoyable for her to come near Masumi, simply for the fact that she wouldn’t object to a single thing she asked for, whether it be sweets or new sheet music for simple playing.

Alessandro De Luca- A very strict father to the two children. Kamelia took his last name, and was also named something in Italian for her mother’s wishes. She doesn’t really like him much, although he is kind to her. He just doesn’t really let her do what she’d like, not much of a support for anything involving music. He’s more of the business type, always trying to push her into college for something other than ‘frivolous subjects that would mean nothing in later years’, as he likes to put it. If anything, Alessandro probably wouldn’t even like her becoming friends with a boy.

Eri Yakumo- Kamelia’s twin brother, having a name taken from her mother. The siblings share a strong bond that no one could break. They are frequently seen together, whether walking from school or practicing after. She completely supports his love for the piano and bass, helping him with the stringed instrument for the fact he doesn’t simply understand fingerings and how to bow properly on such a large item. Inseparable and very close, indeed, always looking after one another. He’d probably be somewhat hesitant to letting her out of his grasp, but it wouldn’t be that big of a deal for him.

Sample RP-
Her hands roamed across the keys as she sat behind the piano, tracing each white and black as if they were all marvels, wondering how her brother could play and find love in such a large instrument. True, he had just taken up the bass and wasn’t exactly good at it because of the size… But, hey- practice always makes perfect, right? A small smile crept to her face as she thought about all the silly errors he made and those confused faces he’d make whenever he’d mess up a note or the bow wouldn’t glide right across the strings because he hadn’t loaded it up with enough rosin that time. They were little things that wouldn’t really matter unless cleaning up for an uptight performance with the symphony in which she dreamed to make it into one day.

The girl stood up from the black and smooth bench, reaching for the case that had been sat on top of the closed grand piano. Pale fingers undid the small Velcro-ed part, tugging slowly at the zippers until they reached the other side where it would be ready to open. Kamelia took up the deep, cherry-stained viola like she hadn’t seen it for ages; as if it’d been stuck in repairs for the longest of times, even though she would never even think of ruining such a great gift she’d been given. Setting it down, she slipped out the bow and rosin, tightening and gliding; securing a shoulder rest in place; getting her footing just right; placement of the bow and instrument on her shoulder; chin against the other rest; eyes shut to concentrate on a piece she’d just finally memorized days before after playing it long ago when she started small.

And there it was, that melodic music that flowed from such a beautiful instrument. She could never explain what the viola ever did to her. It wasn’t the same as her brother attempting to teach her piano, or how she felt during a full orchestra concert; it was what she did alone, what she could produce by herself. Just the sound was enough to amaze her, even after playing for several years since she’d been in junior high. Schubert’s Serenade was it; that simple piece she would never have thought of coming back to in the end.

"One more play is better than nothing, right..?"
