Character Description (biography, behaviour, relationships...):

Name: Tsuchiura Ryotarou

Sporty and compassionate, Tsuchiura Ryotarou was born on July 25 and stands at 5 feet 9 inches. A seaweed color embellishes his hair while his eyes shine like a topaz gem. Tsuchiura attends Seiso Academy, where he is admired by both boys and girls alike, though most girls find him hard to talk to. He is part of the General faculty, although he has been gifted with the ability of shining brighter than many music students when playing the piano. He, however, had kept his exceptional talent on the down side and joined the soccer team when he was in middle school. Thus, soccer became his favorite hobby and past-time; and he even received the position of midfielder as he entered Seiso.

He was not always secretive about his love for the piano though. During his elementary years, Tsuchiura was the only child to take part of the concours. He excelled in the competition, but to his dismay, he lost due to the prejudice of him being a mere grade schooler within the contest. Ever since that day, Tsuchiura stopped playing to the public and shunned anything that had to do with music...until he accidentally ran into Hino Kahoko at their school halls one day. He almost knocked the red-headed girl down the staircase, but saved her in the knick of time. Their friendship grew, so he went to the first selection of the school's concours to watch her. Unfortunately, Kahoko's accompanist ditched her at the last minute because of jealousy, so Hino was left all alone onstage without any pianist accompanying her. Being the kind-hearted being Tsuchiura is, he jumped onto the stage and played Chopin's "Tristesse" to help the damsel in distress. To his surprise, he had been selected as another contestant for the concours after flabbergasting the audience with his spectacular piano skills. He later decided to quit his soccer club and devote his life to music once more.

Tsuchiura does not hate any of the competitors of the concours, except for one specific violinist: Tsukimori Len. The egotistic, but extraordinarily talented prodigy did not believe that the General Education department students are of any good and that infuriated Tsuchiura. He and Tsukimori have then always fought about petty matters and never had a nice and decent conversation. What made things worse was that Tsuchiura did not like seeing Kahoko and Len get along. This heated up the two boys' relationship even more, resulting into continuous fights and arguments with each other.

Your goals? (what do you plan with your character?)

I want Tsuchiura to build a friendlier relationship with Tsukimori (continuing Vivi's quest :D) because like our creator said, they shouldn't fight and give each other death glares whenever they see each other. Also, I want Tsuchiura to create a "more-than-friend" bond with Arai Momo since they're both pianists and (I personally believe) they would look cute together. Besides, I don't want them to be single and have no one to share their thoughts and feelings to. I love happy endings. *wink wink* I know Tsuchiura "loves" Kahoko, so I'm not going to make his feelings for her diplenish completely, but just open his heart for one more girl. ;D And for the possible TsukimorixHinoxTsuchiura love triangle, I would like Tsuchiura to step out of it and have him become a stepping stone and helper for Hino's future problems. I, too, dislike those crazy love triangles. D:

Short sample RP (~10 lines):

He still remembered the day when a certain red-headed girl peeked on him while he was sucked into his own little world as he gracefully played the black piano. His expression, her surprise, and the store keeper's reaction. Tsuchiura Ryotarou, 2nd year student of the General Education department of Seiso Academy, was finally able to play on the piano he loved so much in public again. There was nothing more he would ever want.

Now, sitting on a bench watching little children play soccer, Tsuchiura chomped on the curry he recently got. Though he quit soccer at his school, he still loved it. Watching the sport made him reminiscent. Half of the boys playing soccer took a glance at Tsuchiura's direction and waved. His eyes widened with surprise, and pointed to himself, clarifying to see if it was he they were gesticulating at. They nodded, and Tsuchiura walked toward them.

"What is it?" he asked, smiling. A boy stared at him and grinned. He pointed to one of his friends, whose knee was scratched. "Madao over here tripped and skinned his knee when we were playing. Can you play midfielder for my team? I can't lose to the others! My lunch money is at stake!" Tsuchiura took a step back, astounded by the request. He looked at the other team. They were twice the size of the little grade schoolers asking for his assistance. Tsuchiura kindly looked at the boys and said,"Okay."

With Tsuchiura's mighty help, the little boys won and thanked him. He just modestly said it was nothing, and left the park. Walking home the usual route, he passed by the music store where he used to secretly play the piano. He stopped and stared beyond the glass windows to see the man waving at him. Tsuchiura walked toward the door and took a step into the store, showing off his gentle smile. "Just one song won't hurt anybody."

First of all, thanks for your hard work. Your writing is pretty good, stylistically, there's nothing wrong with it. After some discussion among the mods, it's a regret to tell you that your application is declined - mostly because the majority of us (it was a really close decision) felt that the application is a bit too superficial (ie. it just retells the story/facts). You'll need to go into more depth so that we can see if you understand the character well enough or not. For example, the whole Relationships part is missing! How Tsuchiura got his piano skills wasn't mentioned either (ie. official fact: his mother is a piano teacher, hence all of her children can play the piano but Tsuchiura was the most talented one among them). Feel free to contact any of the mods if you've got questions regarding this decision, thank you.

Here're some points regarding the application:
"where he is admired by both boys and girls alike, though most girls find him hard to talk to."
Not confirmed/official - the only confirmed girl that finds him hard to talk to is Fuyuumi I believe? =___=

"During his elementary years, Tsuchiura was the only child to take part of the concours."
This is somewhat misleading - all participants in that concour are basically "children" (under 18s); he's the only primary school kid while the others are all middle/high school students and this is the important point

"Tsuchiura does not hate any of the competitors of the concours, except for one specific violinist: Tsukimori Len"
I think using the word "hate" is a bit too strong here; the fights between the two Tsutsus were never personal - it's more like, directed towards the matter/opinion. "Rival" is a much better word here? =)

"What made things worse was that Tsuchiura did not like seeing Kahoko and Len get along"
I don't believe there're any official evidences about this? Tsuchiura does care about Hino, yes, but I don't think he loves her so deeply to that point yet in the anime...

PS. Mods, feel free to add in if I've missed out anything by any chance xD
