Ahaha, I find it really amusing that we played their ensemble piece in our high school orchestra. xD It's the "Overture to Russlan and Ludmilla" by Glinka. We played it ten billion times slower, though, since we fail like that. 8D;; It sounds really cool in their ensemble. I think after watching the second episode, I definitely think I like the manga more than the anime. The anime is so... cheesy. xD When I first watched the series, I really didn't see how cheesy it was, and now I do. Hahaha~ I think the insert song is Kaji's character song, "You're in My Heart." Here's the link for IMEEM.com~ Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a full-version of it yet. D: It's really pretty. And here's a link to the violin, viola and piano version of the ending theme, Soukyuu no Score ~The Score in Blue~: Click! I'm in love with this instrumental. <333 |

Cool, thanks for the links, Yian-san!! 8D I, too, have issues with the way La Corda oversimplifies things. I mean, if everyone could be awesome at playing their instruments because of their love for it, then we'd have a lot of really good musicians running around! Also, I don't know about anyone else, but I tended to like the piano more when I was playing well, and when I was playing terribly, I'd hate it, LOL. So, I ended up only loving the piano when I was actually playing well. It was a very fickle love, I suppose ^^I think a full second season would have been much better than an OVA. I felt like two episodes was hardly enough to bring any character development to the stage. I mean, if you're going to introduce three characters, then do something with them! I didn't see much point in introducing Eto or Kira. Even the older characters, besides Hino, ended up taking back seats. Fuyuumi and Shimizu's functions were only there to say, "Ganbatte!" to Hino. We barely saw Yunoki and Hihara. Tsukimori and Tsuchiura got a bit more screen time and dialogue, but we could have taken them out and still would have had the OVA's basic plot pretty well unchanged. |

@Vivi-honey... Ahh, seems like Yian has already answered the question lol, oops! Sigh, I guess we can blame the over-simplicity and the cheesy-ness etc on the very limited screen time? With just like an hour, it's impossible to a) introduce three new characters b) develop the existing characters and c) have an exciting (or complex) plot... so Koei has to resort on "all you need is love" to explain everything lol. I have to stress that this is only true for the OVA (and maybe the anime) though, the game and manga plots are certainly not over-simplified ^^~ Well, I don't have any expectation for the OVA to start with anyway so it's fine for me XD I think the reason why they're not making a full-blown second season is that it's not really profitable to do so. I mean, I've said this before but - La Corda d' Oro is first and foremost a game (or rather, "games" now). The normal versions for the games are usually like USD50 (which is still affordable?), but they can charge up to like USD140 for the special versions! There're so much more cute/lovable merchandise/CDs together with the Special versions, hence fans of the series will usually get the special versions. Now if we assume that the production cost of an anime season and a game is equal, it's obvious as to which one will create more profit (when we can watch anime episodes for free on TV - and the side merchandise deriving from the TV series are nothing when compared to the games)! With that said, I seriously don't know what's the point of producing a two-episode OVA... except maybe to promote the series to the non-gamers? Like, the non-gamers may stumble upon the series when they're looking for new anime to watch, and end up falling in love with it, etc... ^^;; |
