Name, Age: Chloe, 13 years old. Do you play an instrument? If yes, which one and for how long?: The drums, for about 2 years or slightly more. And the trumpet, for a year. I used to play piano, too, but I stopped before I could get a proper grade. Do you have any RPing experiences? I RP two characters for a Prince of Tennis roleplay on LJ. How often will you be able to role-play?: At least two or three times a week, and more on holidays. I'll try to continue RPing during the exam period, but I can't really promise anything yet. But any other time of the year should be okay. Character Name: Nakamura Keiko General Education Department or Music Department? Which year?: Music Department. 2nd Year. Does your character play an instrument? If yes, which one and how well does your character play it ("ability level")?: Trumpet (since I think I'll be able to play her better if I chose something I'm more used to). She's better than most people, and knows it. Character Description - Please keep in mind that you are allowed to add as much detail as you want to your character Physical Appearance Keiko has snowy white locks that end just above her waist. She has a long fringe that is always swept sideways and tucked behind her ear, making sure that it won't disturb her while reading her trumpet pieces. She has a delicate-looking face, and wears an amused smirk on her face most of the time. She has rather bad eyesight, but finds it a pain to get glasses and always has her contacts on. Her eyes are a soft pastel blue, and with the help of her contacts, they usually make her look sharp. Her other facial features are pretty average, and do not stand out much. She stands at a height of 169 centimeters, and has a slightly skinny frame. One of her favorite type of clothing is denim, but will wear anything that she thinks suits her. Examples would be skirts with lace, usually about knee length, and sleeveless cotton shirts. She would also settle on wearing anything expensive and anything that she finds worthy enough to be worn by her. Personality Keiko, as you might be able to guess, is a very confident girl. Over-confident, to be exact. The reason behind her high self esteem would be her upbringing, as explained below. She knows she's good at many things, like her studies and her trumpet playing, and is not afraid to mention it to her peers. She doesn't have a very good personality, but is quite amusing to talk to if you get close enough to her. She doesn't have split personalities but there is a side to Keiko which is softer and (hopefully) more gentle which she only uses when necessary. It is not the polar opposite of her regular personality; just a milder version of it. Keiko is also always ready to improve. If she finds out that someone is better than her in any aspect, she will set that person as a goal and makes sure that she beats them. She is a very determined person, and makes sure to overcome any obstacle in her way. Background information Having been born in a rich family, Keiko knew she was of a higher ranking than others. As she grew up with many maids at her beck and call, her personality slowly shaped into what it is today. Of course, she needed something to back up her arrogance. Doing well in her studies was nothing special, as that was already expected of her by her parents. As she found great joy in making and hearing music, she decided to play a musical instrument. The reason she chose to play the trumpet instead of a woodwind or string instrument was because she was mesmerized by it. She first heard it at a high-class concert that her parents brought her to, at the age of 5. The sound it produced was so different from any of the instruments she had ever heard, and yet it was simply so... beautiful. The notes were flowingly strung together, like an unseen dance. It was a mere simple melody that was played, but that simple melody was one of the best things she heard. A soothing sound. Keiko found herself slowly swaying to the music, and even as she left the concert halls, she found the wonderful melody still playing inside her head. She decided then that she wanted to make an even better sound by herself, and has been playing the trumpet ever since. It was hard for her to convince her father to allow her to come to this school. She had to spend her first year of high school at Nakamura High (set up by her father) because of her father's insistence on getting her into a more prestigious school. After consistent begging, he finally complied to her request and allowed her to transfer her there. ((Notes: There's an actual school in Japan with the name Nakamura, but I'm not too sure whether or not it is a high school. I only know it's a girls' school, since their band performed in Singapore before. But let's just say that the school Keiko's father set up is a different school, okay? ))Relationships Nakamura Takahashi (Father, age 47) Keiko respects her father a lot, but it is questionable whether or not she loves him as a father. This may be because of the fact that Keiko rarely gets the chance to see her father, since he always seems to be busy with work. Keiko's father is in charge of a huge medical company (the school was mainly set up for Keiko and her brother). Nakamura Sayuri (Mother, age 45) Keiko's mother tends to travel with her husband a lot, and therefore does not spend a lot of time with her kids, but she tries to spend as much time with them as possible. Her relationship with Keiko is quite good, as they don't spend enough time with each other to fight a lot. Nakamura Kentarou (Brother, age 20) Keiko and Kentarou tend to fight a lot, since Keiko is always intent on trying to beat him. They don't really get along well (they have a love-hate relationship, like any other siblings), but Keiko will occasionally go to him for advice. He plays the saxophone, but only as a hobby. His father is counting on him on taking over the family business once he is done studying in New York University School of Medicine. He aims to get a Masters degree there. Hashimoto Takumi (Personal Trumpet Tutor, age 24) He's been teaching Keiko about 5 years back. He was the one who encouraged her to pursue trumpet playing as a career, because he sees much potential in her. He doesn't teach her anymore because he's advancing on in his own trumpet playing career, but he keeps in contact with Keiko through email. He's one of the few people who can tolerate Keiko's self-centered attitude. Because of this, Keiko considers him her best friend, and confides in him if there is anything bothering her. Relationships you are planning to establish I think I'd like Keiko to make some close friends that won't really mind her personality. Any other relationships would be fine too. Sample RP (>=10 lines): "Stop playing, Onii-chan!" Nakamura Keiko snapped at her brother, covering her ears with her hands. "It's too loud!" Nakamura Kentarou stopped blowing into his mouthpiece and frowned at her. Why is she always so demanding? he thought irritably, using one hand to whack his younger sister on the back of her head. Keiko yelped at the impact of her brother's curled up fist meeting her head. Feeling anger surge through her, she turned to face her brother, muttering curses under her breath. She growled at him before aiming a blow at his shoulder. When she missed, she hastily placed her trumpet on the floor and started pounding her brother with punches. "Oi! Stop it!" Kentarou screamed at her, using one arm to guard himself and the other one to guard his saxophone. "Fine, fine! I'll keep quiet!" Keiko ceased immediately, her previous frown immediately replaced with a smirk. She felt herself swell with pride; she always liked it when she won. She sauntered back to her seat, swiping her annoying fringe behind her ear. Sure, she knew she was being arrogant as always, and that some people don't like her because of it. But, she mused. What's wrong with being stuck-up, if I know that I have every right to be? |
