Roleplayer: Otori Shun, Izumi Ran

Name, Age: Ka-chan, 14

Do you play an instrument? If yes, which one and for how long?: Uhhh, the piano for 2 years? I quit. *sob*

Do you have any RPing experiences? Not really, the only experience I had was when I played as Kobayashi Hanako. Other than that, I'm still pretty new to this.

How often will you be able to role-play?: As much as I can, which is about 2/3 times a week?

Character Name:Otori Shun, 鳳 春

General Education Department or Music Department? Which year?:Music Department, 3rd year, 17 years old (He didn't have his birthday yet.)

Does your character play an instrument? If yes, which one and how well does your character play it ("ability level")?: He does play an instrument, one in particular called the flute. He wouldn't call himself a professional, but people would label him as highly skilled.

Character Description - Please keep in mind that you are allowed to add as much detail as you want to your character

PHYSICAL TRAITS
Shun, standing at 187 cm, has messy, brownish-red hair with aqua-green eyes. His hair is almost never brushed, unless his mother forces him to once in awhile. Pale, and also a bearer of a conspicuous Adam's apple, Shun has a toned figure. He's not as thin as a twig, nor is he buff like a wrestler. It is just enough for him to be proud to run around the beach without a shirt. There is a huge scar on his right forearm due to his lack of foresight when he was a child. His eyes are small, but sharp, and they also show a bit of goofiness within them. There is always either a silly grin imprinted on his face or a bored and unmotivated one.

CHARACTER TRAITS
Humble, lazy, and silly are three perfect adjectives to describe the one and only Otori Shun. Never would he acknowledge his good marks, nor would he ever try hard. He would always end up overreacting whenever someone would call him a genius. Shun doesn't want to become something big, which is why he doesn't want people to expect something from him. However, if there is a time where he absolutely POSITIVELY has to work hard, then he would. Over all of his denials that he can't solve an algebra problem, he very well can, as well as geometry, trigonometry, and even calculus.

Another thing. Shun is the one who cracks jokes that are either too stupid to laugh at, or have no meaning to them whatsoever. He wants to be painted as the class clown when he graduates, and not a person who's capable of being successful, which is why he makes up the most idiotic jokes for people to hear. He, himself, would laugh at it, but not likely would another. They would laugh at him, just not with him.

BIOGRAPHY
Though being part of the Music Department, and almost reaching graduation, Shun doesn't take his music career seriously. He is just in for the kick of it, and nothing more. His parents were disappointed at him once before, and he doesn't want them to be again. That is why he doesn't try so hard.

The reason for being modest
Shun used to be so confident in his skills and upsides, especially when it came to the flute. Seven years ago, when he was still in elementary school, he became a soloist for his orchestra in their upcoming performance. It was a big show where professional musicians were watching. This made him so nervous that he failed to bring success to the audience. He was off tempo, missed notes, pressed extra keys, and also made a screech during his solo. The audience was tempted to throw their programs to the stage, but never did. They just stared at the flutist with disapproving eyes. After the show, his parents had said straight up to his face,”I'm disappointed. I thought you were better than that, Shun.” There, his proud ego cracked and he never again played with the child-like confidence he had before.

Though now he preferred it that way. It may not seem like it, but he is happier not trying than putting his hard work and sweat into something that won't last.

The cause of the huge scar to his arm
There's no big, dark history behind the scar, just a bad case of clumsiness. Even back then Otori Shun was a carefree, joyful, joke-cracking boy. One day his mother asked him to place the plates back in the shelf. The shelves were high, so Shun had to use a chair. It was raining that day and he had just came back from school, and apparently, he didn't take off his shoes. The puddles caused from the precipitation soaked his sneakers, which made it slippery. While carrying a stack of plates and standing on the high chair, Shun took one careless step and he came crashing down. He landed on his buttocks while the plates thundery smashed onto his right arm. The broken pieces slashed his skin, leaving marks that will never fade. Shun was rushed to the hospital, and in a few weeks he was as good as new.

RELATIONSHIPS

Family
Otori Ichino – He is Shun's father, and is a successful businessman. He travels around the world once in awhile, and is occasionally home. He is really into classical music, and goes to concerts whenever he is free from work. He was the one who suggested to take Shun to Seiso, since Shun used to love classical music. Ichino blames himself for his son not doing his best for anything anymore. He tries to apologize but Shun never accepts it.

Otori Hitomi – Hitomi is Shun's one and only mother. She is a stay-at-home mother who deals with the cleaning and cooking. She, too, loves classical music and accompanies her husband to concerts. She is the type of mother who tries to understand her children, but has trouble along the way. Ever since Shun's traumatic concert, Hitomi tries to be the best mom she could be and treats her son with utmost care, though the son himself doesn't like to be favored amongst his siblings.

Otori Etsuu – Etsuu is Shun's younger sister. She is only sixteen, but she already is owner of a huge fashion industry called Etsuu Shun. She adores her older brother even after he changed. She even went all the way to add his name in her fashion line. Shun may make it seem like he doesn't care about her existence, but he really cares deeply about her.

Otori Makoto – Makoto is the youngest of the Otori family at the age of fifteen. Though both of his parents love classical music, he himself despises it. He prefers heavy metal and hip hop anytime. Whenever he isn't home, people can find him street dancing with his group or practicing his latest song with his band. Makoto is quite secluded to all of his family members, but will confide with one of them if he is really troubled. Though he always spits out insults to him, Makoto respects his older brother Shun.

Friends/Other

Asari Haru – She is a 2nd year student who happens to have the same first name as him. They're pronounced differently, but it's the same character. Shun is often teased and mocked by her, but usually retorts back with one of his idiotic puns. They might bicker all the time, but deep down they both know they are really close friends.

Minamimoto Waka – Waka is often made fun of (by Shun no less) because of his ridiculously long surname and awkward first name. He is also a 3rd year in the Music Department who plays the French horn. His skills are moderate, and even though Shun always mocks him, Waka always follows him around. They are the best of friends regardless of all the insults Shun spits out at him.

Kozu Hiroyuki - Shun and Kozu met when he accidentally bumped into each other. Kozu has thought that Shun was seriously annoying and too hyper for his own good, while Shun enjoys to poke fun with him.

Brown Adagio - Adagio and Shun coincidentally met when they both wanted to use the school pool. They're on good terms. Shun usually gets mesmerized by Adagio's unique beauty, but only thinks of her as a friend.

Fuji Hotaru - Hotaru is in Shun's class and were mere acquaintances until Fuji fell off a very steep hill and fell on Shun. They practically joke around now as good friends.

Izumi Ran - A shy, petite, artistic 2nd year gen-ed student that Shun met up with by chance. He loves playing the big brother role for her during school, though they don't really make time to see each other during class times.

Sample RP (>=10 lines):

A sigh escaped out of the 3rd year's lips. He was lying on a hill, gazing at the sky and playing with his disheveled hair. It was a beautiful, cloudless, sunny day where there was a cool wind gently blowing across the field. In the distance, he heard footsteps tapping on the green grass. It was his sister's.

“Hey! Shun-nii!” she called. Her footsteps were quickening and getting louder by every step she took. Otori Shun didn't even take a glance at his sister. He kept his aqua-green eyes fixed to the endless sky. Soon enough, he was kicked, by his sister no less. Before he knew it, he began rolling down the steep, grassy hill. He could've sworn he swallowed some weeds. At the end of his trip down the hill, he saw his little sister Etsuu staring back at him. “Oh, it's you. What do you need, Etsuu?” Shun coolly asked, raising his upper body while scratching his head.

“You were supposed to be at dinner half an hour ago! What do you think you're doing here!” Etsuu yelled, slapping Shun. She used her round, yellow eyes to enter a staring contest against her brother's sharp, dashing ones. After a minute, Shun heaved out a sigh and shut his eyes.

“Jeez, enough of this, Etsuu. I'm coming,” he mumbled. Shun got up and slapped away some of the grass clinging onto him. He tapped his sister's shoulder and began strutting back to their home. “Hey Etsuu, do I have a story to tell you.” His sister caught up to him and asked what it was about.

“I thought I saw an eye doctor on an Alaskan island, but it turned out to be an optical Aleutian.” Shun started to laugh really hard while Etsuu stared at him in dismay.
