Who: Anybody What: Lunchtime Where: Various locations… on campus…? xD Despite the many setbacks she’d suffered since entering Seisou, Chinatsu had never seemed as down as she did today. According to her friends in Gen-Ed, anyway. But in fact, she’d just recently received note that she simply wasn’t doing well enough for her continued enrollment in the music section, and that she would soon have to transfer to general education. This was an idea she was actually not against. She loved the other side of the school, but she simply wouldn’t be able to stay in this district at all if she wasn’t a music student. This troubling sense of news had her on her toes, and she’d spent a grueling afternoon last night, practicing until her ears rang with the nasally sharp sound of her oboe singing wrong notes and bad rhythms. The usual smile was significantly dimmer today, but she wasn’t put out just quite yet! Toshio-sensei had given her a chance to get some extra credit to pull up her grades. A small ensemble, which would simply gather to play together after school on days that were convenient. She would have to organize it, and attract members by the end of the week. It was a simple idea, but as she put up flyers, she grew more and more sullen. Oh how she hated ensembles. Practice Ensemble! The little flyer read, detailing on the location: Room 2-B, the purpose: Leisurely practice of playing music with other musicians, and the organizer. Honoka Chinatsu. She cringed every time she saw her name there, but in fact it was she who put it there, to divert any of the people who really, really hated her. Or maybe attract them, which was a possible outcome- but never her intention! Chinatsu had easily found a loophole in Toshio-sensei’s project, and she knew there were students in the general education department who also played instruments. She reached out to those students, rather than the music students who all seemed to look down on her. She wanted to play music with people who were just there to play music, like she was. Not seek a professional career out of it, or make a big fuss over little details like grace notes. Just everyday people. Still, it was extremely awkward to be standing in the middle of the general education building all by herself, clutching the last little stack of her flyers. Usually she was with her friends, but they were all off in class, while Chinatsu enjoyed her self-study period. It was like she was a black sheep in a flock of white sheep. Or a white sheep in a flock of black sheep, if you wanted to classify the color of her wool by the color of her uniform. She turned and leaned against the bulletin board where she’d just posted up some flyers for people to take, shyly pressing her shoulders in to be less conspicuous. There were a lot of really really tall guys in general education. Athletes, probably. She felt like a dwarf around them, and she didn’t really have the courage to ask one of them if they could tell her another good spot to hang up flyers… Edited by Namida, May 6 2009, 06:39 PM.
