Name, Age: Vinnie, 17 Do you have any RPing experiences? I was in the previous BNB, but that is all. How often will you be able to role-play? Depends on school but I should be able to at least do it once or twice a week. Character Name: Takahashi Haruki Occupation, Age: A second year university student who is 20 years old. She is taking music education classes and is participating in the university’s orchestra. Does your character play an instrument? If yes, which one and how well does your character play it? Haruki plays the Cello at a very high level, and is decent playing the piano as well. Character description: Haruki is at a height of 5' 3" (160cm) with dark blue hair, nearly black looking, that falls slightly above her shoulders. Her eyes are also blue but are somewhat lighter in color. She is quite slim in shape from the exercise her younger cousin brings when watching over her and from carrying her cello from place to place. Haruki has a slightly tan complexion as well. Her clothing usually sports of plain t-shirts, jeans, and bright converse shoes. For the orchestra she wears a nice buttoned black shirt with a long black skirt and black flat shoes. Other than that she does not really wear any thing fancy or extremely nice looking unless her mother or friends push it onto her to do so. Haruki is a person who enjoys reading and playing music rather than socializing in big crowds. She is rather calm but can get easily embarrassed, especially by her mother. Usually Haruki is polite but if the right buttons are pressed then she snaps and gets after anyone for anything. Whenever Haruki hears good classical songs that she knows, she can’t help but smile. Haruki does not really like accepting people’s help from things other than music because she is trying to show she can live a dependant life. However, she is not extremely good at things that lie outside the music world so she often does have to accept help sooner or later. Cute things and good food are Haruki’s weakness which she can not say no to. When young, Haruki’s parents wanted her to have many possibilities open to her. They tried to get her into many things such as dance and sports but none of those really interested Haruki. Eventually they got to music and Haruki loved it right off the bat. Her father thought piano would be best and putting one in the spacious living room would be quite nice, but her mother thought the cello would be a better choice and it would be incredibly cute for such a little girl to play such a tall instrument. They signed her up for lessons for both instruments and Haruki decided to keep both for awhile. In Jr. High Haruki decided to focus more on the cello and less on piano. Haruki decided to go in the career path of teaching music. She learnt this from her cousin. Her job at home mostly was to entertain said cousin. Haruki’s entertainment was playing music so she started to teach Megumi, her cousin, how to play the piano sitting in the living room. Luckily for her, Megumi was interested in the piano. It took awhile but Haruki figured out a good way to teach the piano to her cousin. However her cousin was a wild spirit so she could not sit all day at the piano. For a lot of the day Megumi would drag Haruki outside to play. They are really close, more like sisters than cousins. Haruki thinks her cousin is undeniably cute and does pretty much whatever her cousin wants that is reasonable. The Takahashi household is not that far from the university but Haruki decided to live on campus in a dorm for her first year. Her father is paying for a lot of her tuition while Haruki paid for a part of it when she a waitresses at her mother’s restaurant during a few summers. Now at her second year in university, Haruki wants to find someone to split an apartment with and some where to work between her classes. Every now and then she goes back home to visit her family. Whenever she is there now though her mother always insist on her finding a boyfriend, for she has never had a relationship, and over cooks, and her cousin has to show off her practiced piano skills then drag her outside for most of the day. Mother - Takahashi Momo is kind and motherly to anyone. Loves to embarrass her daughter and stuffing her with food because she thinks Haruki is too slim. She works in a small restaurant nearby her house as a cook. Father – Takahashi Seiichi is a caring father. He is usually away at work for the big company he works for. The thing he loves most is his wife’s cooking and spoiling his daughter. Cousin – Yamada Megumi is a young cousin from Haruki’s mother’s side of the family. Megumi’s parents work with Haruki’s father so they are also gone from home a lot. She stays at the Takahashi household most of the time. Also likes to call her cousin Haru instead of Haruki. Sample RP: In a small practice room on campus Haruki was playing the cello, the thing she does best. Music from the page she was reading poured out of her cello as she slid the bow across the strings and her hand moved swiftly from string to string creating the lovely pitches that made her feel whole. This is what she lived for, the music. As she finished Bach’s famous first suite Prelude Haruki couldn’t help but smile. Prelude was one of her favorite songs for the cello and the beautiful melody just made her happy when she heard it. Quickly glancing at the small clock hanging in the room Haruki decided one more song couldn’t hurt. For her it would be a lot easier to play in the dorm but the tenant in the neighboring room once knocked on the door and asked her to quit making such a racket since she was trying to study which followed in Haruki poking the girl in the stomach with her bow and giving a lecture on how it was definitely not a racket before slamming the door shut. She would definitely like to avoid that situation again because no doubt the neighbor would send in a complaint and she didn’t enjoy snapping at people that much. Flipping through her folder Haruki finally decided on The Swan from Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals. One hand guided the bow and the other moved from string to string. She smiled again losing herself in the music. |
