All of the semi-final matches, on both the men's and women's side of the ledger, represent the final before the final. The mini wars are ever present. We've seen the gentlemen, and they are always exciting. The top 4, occupying different rankings from previous times, are at it, again. Seems like old home week. Will it end with the final that many fans hope for- Rafael & Roger, or will Novak and/or Andy make a claim? Whatever, this is definitely some heavy-weight happening. May the best of the day ... blah, blah ... take a final spot. The story of this week's tournaments is on the women's side of the ledger, IMO. For anybody who was concerned about the health of the WTA, you must have taken the WTA off of the terminal list especially since the lovely fireworks of Wimbledon. And, Cincinnati should have solidified the prognosis for a fine "recovery". In the semi-final matches, we have three former number ones and a highest ranked teenager in the world. And, the double's matches are summoning up their brand of fire- Huber/Petrova vs Raymond/Stubbs Final. Kim's story is nice. Taking time off and all that stuff; she came back ablaze. The story in that match is how well Ana has comported herself in the tournament after falling on hard times. Simply stated, "She has been kicking butt." It is going to be interesting to see how she holds up against Kim. If they continue their winning ways of this tournament, the match of the day will be the match between Maria and that lethal weapon, Anastasia. The veteran "Russian" challenged by the young upstart Russian. One attempting to re-claim, and the other attempting to claim. Both threathening moves over the course of previous tournaments. Something, seemingly, has settled, yielding fine results and stellar performances. GO AT IT LADIES!! JUST GO AHEAD TO CLAIM!!! |
