At first look I thought a draw that included Berdych, Djokovic and then Nadal would be rough. Kudus to Roger for getting to the finals. Obviously, I overlooked a determined Murray. It would have been better of course without the rain but nether the less it was fun watching Murray bring a more aggressive game to the table. Now Andy can you do that at a Major? |

YES, he can, and he will. The prognosticator has spoken. Mark my words, now.

Dangit, I hope so. I loved how he played against Nadal. Didn't see but the last few games of the final, though. |

Murray played really nice, determined, focused tennis during this tournament. CONGRATULATIONS!!! I was a bit surprised that he played his prediction of being more on top of his game. Leading up to Wimbledom, Murray was a mess. I made the mistake of kicking him off of my fantasy team during that tournament because he did last longer than some of my choices. At any rate, it is good to see him play to his potential at Rogers. What will Cincinnati and New York yield? Roger, on the otherhand, played nerve wrecking tennis throughout this tournament, particularly starting with the Berdych match. Not to take anyting away from his opponents. Roger is kind of comical out there, but most people see him as all seriousness. Aside from the fact that things don't come quite as easily to him as they did before, and he does not get out of trouble as readily as he did before, sometimes, I feel as if Roger is experimenting with new stuff out there, and it just goes awry. It is not necessarily that the shot is bad, but he hasn't thought it through. In all of the last three matches, Roger did a few things that did not work; had me laughing [not at him, just marveling that he tried it], and the commentators wondering about his thought behind a particular shot. The look on Roger's face- that was suppose to work.

Andy's got himself a nice little fan base going. Sensational!!! So call me a notoriously shameless bandwagoner, but I'm in for the haul at least through September. That's commitment. |

I am always with 100+ favorites, and the fantasy games boost some higher. I am not a Murray wagoner, but I was pleased to see him have a breakthrough of sorts. He outright slapped the mess out of Rafael. I had not seen that in a long time; Andy agressively managing his game. Giving props; that is all that I am doing. |

Somebody just sent me the URL to an old Pixie and Dixie cartoon. hate those meeses to peeces... It was the one where their cousin from Texas visits. And you know they grow them big there. I used to watch Roger toy with players like they were mice and he was the cat, but I think he's running against some Texas type mice now, and the game isn't quite as effective or fun.... Then again he does have a new "coach" so perhaps he's just trying new things to see what works. It got him past Berdy and Nole. Unfortunately Andy "Tigger" Murray wasn't in the mood to be a guinea pig. |

Yea, I love that he was trying different things, even if they didn't always pay off. NOW is the time to do it. It's like he's a bit more gung-ho than usual. I enjoy that attitude. |

I agree... I was surprised to hear that that despite leading Roger 7-5 in head2head, this was the first Finals tournament win that Murray had over Roger. (had been 0-3). But it sort of becomes a catch22 with these players. Murray plays very, very well and now is a focused again "favorite", and that ugly person, Mr. "Raised Expectations"(RE) enters the room. I think Roger and Rafa always play with Mr. "RE" in the room, whereas the rest of the players get him intemittently. IMO Theo |
