Wanted to get your recomendations on wipers. I would prefer to go with vacuum. What about wiperman.com? Any other vacuum sources?

As far as electric...I heard most have had good luck with the marine version. Part numbers and sources?

Like I said above, I would like to stay orignial...but is the upgrade to electric wipers a better choice?

I'm sticking with vacuum. I had mine reconditioned with Wiperman. Nice work.

I'm sure both have advantages and disadvantages. I remember the vacuum would virtually stop during an acceleration from a dead stop. This time around, I've got a fresh wiper motor and a rebuilt vacuum system. Looking forward to see if this offers any improvements.

Above all, it's original.

With my 3B being 6volt, going to electric was not really an option at this time. I picked up an extra vacuum wiper for parts and using the internet for info I rebuilt mine. It turned out it was the old dried grease inside the unit that was the problem.[Careful with the paper gaskets] After regreasing the leather seals and installing a new vacuum fuel pump, they work great. I do drive in the rain sometimes so having good wipers was important but not mandatory.
I'd suggest you open up your motors and check for the old grease first. I've had the JC whitney wipers on my other 12v jeep, they worked good but only sweep 90 deg. The marine wipers are expensive but seem to be the way to go if your going electric.

I don't have the old wipers. Anyone bought a complete set-up from Wiperman.com?

I kept looking on ebay, but here's some on the Kaiser willys website-

http://www.kaiserwillys.com/product/1856/284

$125 each! I guess we all need to start looking for you. I bought a new fuel pump off ebay too. Do you need one of those too?

Just wanted to throw in what i have run across trying to stay with vacuum wipers.

1. Do not buy the after market arms sold im most jeep places. The arm is too long and the spring is to tight for the motor to move it . ( had to repurchase a correct arm from Walcks with correct blade).
2. Most vacuum motors or rebuilt ones will not come with the nut that the arm sits on as well as the nut that holds evrything in place.(found this from harry sheets in Ind.)
3. when I finally got everything right it was worth it.
