found these diagrams on 3B page, it shows the different design of pulleys as early/late , my '57 had late pulley design, but why does late have what looks like a two belt pulley - I have one belt sitting in forward groove for alternator and waterpump - whats the other groove for ?![]() ![]() Randy |

Power steering??? I bought a NOS double groove for that reason.I saw a 3B with an F-head that had a power steering pump mounted on it.Figured I would need it. |

I can think of two reasons to have an extra belt on the pulley: In both images, the auxiliary belt appears to be behind the main belt. |

FYI- Notice the 3 tabs on the later style, missing on the early. They we're used for driving aftermarket accessories, i.e. winch, pumps using a PTO mounted in front of the pulley. check out this drawing. http://www.billys56willys.com/m100j_page_1.pdf |

with all the pto applications I didnt think running off the crank was used wonder if all late 3B's had this feature, mine had something mounted on passenger side possibly using the inside belt - not sure what - and it plowed snow here is my pulley - I see the tabs now ![]() thank you for the great info on this little 3Beast ... Here's a picture of a hyd pump and bracket that bolts to the front of the oil pan and uses the crank pulley with a rubber isolator block to drive the pump http://www.farmjeep.com/img/3a/monroe-pump-top.jpg He has a great website for his farm jeeps. |

wow - that site has some good reading and photo's - thanks , anyone making it out to swap meets or crusing the countryside should have a read , I could have steped over some of those implements and never have known ... |
