I have an old gas tank from a 3b that had alot of junk in it that just wouldn't come out with any amount of shaking... Shop vac...I found a smaller piece of hose that I duct tapped to my shop vac hose and sucked the junk out of the tank. Tapping the tank a little released the rest and that came out to. I wouldn't try this with a tank that has gas or gas smell in it though you are working with electric. I guess you could fill it with water and flush it real good first... |

Or take it to a radiator shop and have it boiled out.I have done several that way and had them sealed at the same time.Does wonders. |

Chris , I have a friend that used gravel from his driveway. He would put a spade shovels worth of stone in the rusted tank shake it around to losen rust, rinse the tank and let dry then use a tank sealer from Eastwood Products. Been 4 or 5 years in use no leaks yet. Jim |
