As some know...Jamie (63 'B) and myself (65 'B) are getting our heaters operational. Here my set up so far.![]() We both are looking for the 90 degree elbow that attaches the hose to the defrost manifold. Anyone know a source? Got CLOSE up pics of yours? I am also looking for correct switches and knobs in good shape. Did I mention it's 80 here today...Heaters in Texas?...Crazy!

Out of all stock heaters used on the various CJ's, the "fresh air type" used for late model CJ-3B is my #1 favorite. This same heater was also used with DJ-3A and Surrey models only. It is a very simple design which works very well. It is easily rebuilt. However replacement parts are very hard to locate. The # 816180 Defroster, manifold assembly design works O.K. but can certainly be improved upon. Those are some nice pics Chet. Your pipe nipples should not be identicle in length. The inlet nipple is 4-3/4" in length and the outlet nipple is 6" in length. "Trying to slip something past Oldtime is like trying to slip a sunrise past a Rhode Island Red!" You caught me. I thought no one would notice that my inlet nipple was 1 1/4" too long and just went with (2) 6" nipples. I was hoping to just "push" the inlet hose on a little farther. What's the "Willy's Reasoning" behind the two lengths? Thanks! PS - Like my subject line implies..."What's a Texan know about jeep heaters any way!"
