They do bolt up, but they are not the self energizing, self adjusting brakes that later model CJs( '72-75s) had. THe tech section over at the earlycj5.com website has a vehicle donor list that had the 11'ers. The backing plates are not being made anymore, so they only way to get them is pay or search wrecking yards, want adds, etc. somebody on the willys tech parts board has a per axle price of $320. I have 11'ers on all four corners and it's a great upgrade. |

Here's my tip on finding the 11" backing plates. Two words...Ford Bronco. Track down your local "Rock Crawlers", a lot of 'em use the older Ford Bronco's and one popular mod with this group is to upgrade to disk brakes. They'll practicably give you the old backing plates! Worked for me.

DJ5s(postal) from the mid seventies have 11" brakes also. You won't need brakes from the rear axle unless you want to modify your jeep to use the cable emergency brake setup at each rear wheel. If you have a good Ebrake attached to your D18 you can bolt up front brake backing plates to your rear axle, but you need to swap the wheel clyinder out so your using a rear wheel cylinder on the rear wheels (smaller size 7/8") Not sure what state you're in but; http://denver.craigslist.org/pts/1104638518.html This guy may have what you need. What you're looking for is the six bolt circular mounting pattern that's the same as your dana 44, dana 25 Pictures are of my 11" brake mod ![]() ![]()
