Chris, You're a man after my own heart brother, as I too have a VERY nice set of original front seats for my '53, and already covered I might add. Now just to get those old (but also nice and comfy) Mustang buckets out as well as the steel platform they're mounted to; and the new master cylinder and brake lines, exhaust pipe, muffler, tailpipe and manifold; and on, and on, and on. Sure be nice to be young again (even 50'd be better than going on 65) so I'd have more ambition, hmmmmmm? Larry S. |

Hey Larry if I was in TX I'd come and help ya install them. For me it's been a long long time driving around on those cj5 seats. Now with the original under my can uncovered as they may be...I'm using a boat cushion right now, ha ha they feel great!!!. I also welded my Bantam trailers tailgate back on yesterday. I fell 65 feet about 13 yrs ago. I fell down through a bunch of steel and landed on concrete, yeah it hurt but I walked away under my own power only to collapse later. I didn't walk again for 12 weeks. I'm 38 yrs old now but I feel 80 some days. I thank God that I'm still here. |

Don't let Larry full you. He is a young man in a mature body! Congratulations on the Seats. I strip the frame of my new Drivers Side Seat, Took springs off my donor seat and primed and painted it yesterday. Waiting of my passenger seat to show up next week and a set of lower springs a friend is sending me. Hopefully I will experience the joy of new "Correct Seats" by the time my kids and I head up to Arkansas in June! Post some pictures Please! I need to be motivated. |

Those tuck and roll seats look more comfortable then the couch! I had installed a cj2a fender and quater because of the butchered conveyer fender that was on there. I had to shorten the area by an 1 1/2 to make it appear stock. I made a new seat rest on the section of metal I fabricated for the wheel well. Looks awesome and the seat fits great now. Can't wait to drive it to work in style now. looks like a jeep feels like a caddy...ha ha |

Except for nicer covers, that is what I have in mine now. I am working on restoring the correct ones for that year. Similar to what you found in a CJ5. I will post pictures when I am done. They look good and work. I have been hanging around to many nuts that are trying to make theirs orginal. Wife says they are really bad infulences and may have to limit my communication with them.

Warning! The CJ3B you own might get too good for the pasture and you will be in search of an other Jeep! Second sign you have a real problem! Only The recently purchased 1974 CJ5 stays at the farm and my baby stays with me in Houston. |

Chris, I'd take you up on the help without a doubt. Kenneth, the seats are top-notch and yep, I'd bet the farm they'll be plenty comfy as well as look very nice after you get 'em mounted. Jamie, if Ann gets down on you too much, I've got some old low-band VHF two ways we can install to continue communicating, ha! BTW, thanks for the youthful comment; however, spending most of the day still working on my customer's MB, I'm really feeling the near 65 years this evening. Larry |

Kenneth , I really like the look of those "later model?" seats , they almost look too good My older style seats were redone also ( pic below ) - am thinking these would be closer to what Chris has ... I dont fine mine so comfy though , in looking for a rear seat frame and material to recondition it I found beachwood has the exact same looking style that can be literally screwed to the original frame like the fronts below ... they had other styles and materials for the 3B ... |
