who's got what style installed and any fit tips or upholstry tips

it seems some are adapting a 2a seat and some info on the web
suggests the 3a/3b seat are same

what do you have in your 3B ?

beachwood has a variety of pads that fit the original frames

in a previous topic a picture of whats believed to be an original 3B seat off
the 3B page was posted - a repro seat was apparently also available without the holes in backing - reposting here along with the seat clips

frame on 3B page

Randy,

The Omix-Ada folks claimed that their repro 3A seat was the same as an original style 3B seat, having the full steel rear panel in place. Chet C. (over In Spring Branch, TX) and I both bought one through one of our local parts vendors, only to learn (upon arrival of the seat frames) the manufacturer was wrong. The frames we received had only the short upper panel on the backrest, and the legs were not properly constructed, (the backrest sits at too much of an upright position).

Chet had his repro seat frame reconstructed by a local sheetmetal shop, adding the full panel to the backrest and changing the legs to conform to what they should be. I, on the other hand, just bought cushions for the frame as it was received and installed it as such. My tub is an aftermarket unit, having no receivers on the back floor panel to mount a seat, so I had to drill some holes and perform a small amount of metal work to install the frame.

You may want to do some price comparisons regarding cushions before you make any purchases (e-mail me).

Randy,

I don't know what those are currently posted at price wise, but I paid thirty-five bucks each for the repro set I now have, and yes, I'd have to say looking at these you've posted, they're the exact same items. If these you've posted are affordable by bidding, or have a Buy It Now price lower than what I paid, I'd jump on them quickly.

Does anyone have measurements of the seat back height and bottom depth of an original seat?

I have a seat that came with a bunch of Willys parts. It has hinges welded to the front tube and they are painted as the rest of the seat. Possibly it came from a wagon or pickup but maybe it can be used to make a nice 3B seat.

Its very heavy.
