So I found a used Warn overdrive locally. They guy has had it for several years and sold the vehicle it was going to be used on. He bought it used also. The problem is that he wants $875 for it. I don't want to offend the guy, but since a new one, with a warranty, is in that price range, I was thinking of offering between $500-600 for it. Any thoughts?

$500-$600 is more than fair for a used unit.

I just sold one on CL for $600 in 15 minutes. I might have got lucky, but there still seems to be value in em.

How many planetary gears? (See Herm’s web site for info on the too types, two or four planetary gears). I bought one with two planetary gears in very good shape for $325.00
