Needed a place to stay in while the jeep and I are at the hunting camp this year(20 miles away). It's one of those pop up truck campers, it's for a 8' bed but it fits fine in my short bed truck. I bought a reciever hitch extender for the truck so I can flat tow the 3B to the lease with the camper and the tailgate down.

Great choice (truck as well) and nice looking on top of the Dodge. Just curious, wherebouts in the state is the deer lease located and how far do you have to travel to get to it? Brother-in-law is getting ready for his annual trek to (just west of) Ozona. Hope you get your freezer filled up this year!

Last Wed., I was up in a part of the Davy Crockett Nat'l. Forest in Trinity County attending a funeral, and travelled back through Walker County to I45 in route back to Houston. I must have encountered a dozen or more "gett'n ready" hunters, pulling ATV's, jeeps of all ages and descriptions (not one 3B however), and campers. Also passed several FM roadside hunting sites with feeders and elevated stands, so I assume that all is ready in that part of Texas for the season opening.

It's in west central GA about 20 miles from the house, it's a lot closer than the 156 miles I traveled in Tx. I think bow season opened this past weekend in Tx. We're about 30 miles south of the flooding and road closures in Atlanta. I recall the "mad dash" to get to the lease on the Friday before opening weekend. Lots of small towns welcome the hunters and the cash they bring into the area every season.

I saw the evening news and from the photos they posted and the weather outlook it doesn't look too promising for those folks. I feel for them greatly and hope the water subsides very soon so things can start returning to normal. Down this way, there are still many homes in the entire area with blue tarps covering their roofs and Hurricane IKE happened over a year ago.

Good luck with the hunt this year!
