Rubber seals around my windshield were bad so I decided to put new ones in. Started to take off the old rubber and found that my windshiled was rust/rotting away.It was bad . My question is has anyone bought a new reproduction frame and what are the pros/cons of purchasing one. Thanks Griff |

Griff, Though I personally know of only one manufacturer in the Phillipines that reproduces vintage jeep w/s frames (and every other body part imagineable), I have yet to deal with that particular item; however, I have installed other repro body parts they mfg. and have found those items are not the best fitting parts initially. In other words, it sometimes takes a few alterations (fitting, cutting, grinding, etc. depending on the particular part), and other time takes only a little additional work to fit parts as they're supposed to. I've found that mating a new repro part, particularly in doing so on an original tub, is even more troublesome. I can easily see perhaps where a repro w/s frame may not exactly or closely fit the curvature of an original tub's cowl, resulting with a bad seal point, but that may not be the case. If you can purchase a repro frame on the condition that it may be returned if it doesn't fit, you'd only be out the shipping charges. I'd recommend watching the CJ3B parts section on eBay Motors for a good used w/s frame as I've bought several in the past and have yet to receive a dud. Larry S. |

Griff, I have a windshield frame (no glass, no seal) that I'm looking to sell; just haven't gotten around to posting it. Let me know if you're interested and I can send you pictures tomorrow. |
