I'll open this year old thread again just to tease us a little, and cry in my beer about loosing the deal. I just hope somebody on this site got in on this. Last week on Ebay several ads showed up about 4 stud Willys wheels, W hub caps, hubs, and the axle. The seller had parted out an old trailer and didn't know the stuff was DJ3A. Obviously some other sharp eyed players saw what I did, as there was serious mashing of keyboards at the auction end. All I ended up with was the W hub caps. Better luck next time. http://www.ebay.com/itm/300661381540?ssPag...984.m1532.l2649 |

I'd probably take the carb to a good carb shop and have them run through it. Usually less than $100, then you have the original one. That's a very cool little jeep, don't see to many in right hand drive with an auto. |

Hi Glad you are making some progress with your DJ3A. I suspect the transmission is a Borg Warner automatic, similar to that used on Studebakers. I, too am having a float problem with my Surrey. I have one fuel filter prior to the fuel pump, but need to put another one between the pump and the carb. I take the top off, work the float valve and put it back together and like Bruce says, it works OK for a while, then a bit of foreign material gets in there and just floods it to the point the engine will barely run above an idle. Patience is something Jeep owners learn!!! |

How about adding a Carter sediment bowl filter to the fuel line between the pump and carb, Colin? Period correct and functional at the same time... |
