look who is out

took it for a legal spin today all tag'ed and insured

a little nervous i revisted the hill where my brakes failed
7 years ago - fluid leak had me cruise thru a 4way stop
tooting horn as ebrake wouldnt lockup either;

today its a light , came to a nice controlled stop with good
working ebrake as backup

tested a few other fixes :

when i had engine out i found the bellcrank bolt loose and
could see the pitman arm go up/down when wheel cranked, torqued it
down - today no wobble or steering issues.

so now i get to cruise around a bit and make some notes on running
gear while i collect last batch of parts before tub comes off

just got back from taking kids for slurpeee - seemed a little hesitant tonight
so still some bugs to iron out, fun non the less - shifted better than first time

thanks for comments, tires are 16x700 firestone ndcc on org 4.5" wide rims, alot
easier to crank the steering around compared to the radials had on there

binthere i am around :)

Randy,

Happy to see it back on the road once more and that you and the kids are really enjoying it!

Regarding your tire choice, I wholeheartedly agree with my buddy Chet.

Love the tarp under the unit. Looks just like my garage floor :-) I gave up fixing the leaks...

I also have the same strap but mine came from Willys Acres and is dark khaki. Not NOS but is pretty good quality. I usually keep mine flipped inside the grill. Keeps it from banging and wearing a swing mark into the paint. I always thought that was the reason for dip in the center of the grill???
