It appears most of the information on the reference site is dated several years ago. In looking at the MD Juan site they have really made some changes to the specs for their replacement bodies and grilles. My question is has anyone used a new body purchased recently, how is the fit and finish now on the product? Thanks Mike |

Mike, although I haven't personally bought or mounted one, I'm aware of a couple fellas here on this board that have, but can't tell you who those were at this time. What I can tell you is that yes, Juan has made some product improvements of late on their tub assemblies, but unfortunately, those improvements have sadly not come far enough; i.e., a good friend and VP of our local military vehicle club has just completed the restoration of a '46 CJ2A, having bought and paid the selling dealer additional money to make fitting of a complete 2A tub assy. supposedly much easier to install. After many frustrating hours of re-re-aligning, cutting, drilling and grinding, he was finally able to get the assy. mounte and it looks very nice I must say, however, he was unable to use the hood that was included with the package, as he could never get it to fit, so he used the original hood, wich after a bit of body work, ended up fitting like a glove. Areas in particular that needed much additional work were the windshield frame to cowl fit; mounting holes (tub to frame) not all matching up; right side fender main mount at frame not aligning and space at top of fender (to tub); no hole in dash for the ignition switch, and several minor areas that simply did not align properly. Starnge as it seems, supposedly, Juan has actual jeeps at their mfg. plant from which they take measurements, etc., but for some unknown reason, that doesn't seem to always resolve the problems with the end result. Sadly again, they have the market cornered for steel tub and assessory replacements for all jeeps and no other mfg. does! Some fellow in OR has however started to reproduce 3B tub parts out of stainless steel, but very expensive so I'm told. |

Thanks for the info. I am going to try and fix the body as best I can. As for the stainless in Oregon, Del has a good product and the price is aout the same as steel. Mike |

Del was supposed to send me some information on his S.S. but never did. By chance has anyone on this board seen one of his stainless 3B's. |

I went down to oregon a few weeks ago and looked at the 3B bodies. They look very good but are not the original in several ways. The grille has no support for a stock 4 cylinder radiator ( not a problem if you swap in another motor) The floor is flat with no hump for a transmission. The kit is very complete with most items needed to put on a stock frame. The work looks very good. Mike |
