Thinking of creating a set of 1/2 doors and I am hoping to get a little more details on Mike Holness 3b set. Looking to find out the length of the door and how they were constructed. Interior finish style, are they bent the same at the 1/4 panel seam and how was the soft upper panel attached and what sort of hinges were used? I know the half door option was never available for the 3b but I am excercising a little artistic licence |

Not the precise answer you're looking for, and I haven't finished the snap portion, but here are some old CJ-5 doors that ran into an angle grinder...![]() Camp Heep VII by maclir I left a little flap of fabric from the top half and used nylon thread to sew it down. I got some junk soft top fabric that I'll use to make the snap portion. And I just bent the bottom metal piece to match the 3B door opening. Currently a bungie runs from the door to my softtop vertical support anchor. I'll eventually reattach the latch mechanism to close onto the tub/3B door opening lip. |
