I removed my wiper motors to work on my frame and have seen several pics of the motor being bolted on flat side down. I wonder which way is the best way for wiper operation? Mine were on flat side up. Not having any luck with finding pics showing orientation so I figured I'd ask. Ken you have any info on this? |

jeeper, If the wiper motor is the correct model for the jeep, then the flat side is down on a non-ventilated W/S. A vented W/S shows the flat side up. There are MANY images on this website to confirm orientation. The "best" way is to orient them correctly. The wiper arms are supposed to "park" to the inside (and flush with the rubber seal) of the windshield. After market wiper motors or vacuum motors from other vehicles may need to be oriented differently and you may see the wiper arm parked in a different position when not in use. |

It's the same way on the M38 Jeff, flat side down, and the left wiper parks flat on the bottom of the glass while the right wiper parks against the right end of the glass. |
