I'll simply echo Chet's thougts. Seems like the only terrain we're going to have left in this area of Texas is ash and charred stumps!

Duffer, How did those stock axles hold up turning those beach balls? I see that your signature says your changing them?
54 (first one) all apart in basement, taking time, doing Engine swap (thinking sbc V8), disc brakes w/ vacuum assist. power steering. Love the look of a 3B but need the modern conveniences. Having a blast doing it.

I think the full float 44 rear axle is fine with 33's. The D25 I keep expecting to self destruct but it just keeps going (and earning my respect that they are a lot tougher than most of us give them credit for). That said, it is open and my driving style is very conservative-I take my time and usually keep the rpm's below 1000.

I am going to feel a lot better with a high pinion 44 up there and am really looking forward to ARB's on both ends which is the only reason I am changing out the 19 spline rear axle. A front locker would have saved 3 winch jobs this summer, 2 of which were backwards self extractions when I got the front diff hung up in the rocks and couldn't get enough traction to back up (steep slope). I am pretty sure that if I tried locking the D25 it wouldn't last one trip.
