REPOST of: 30 ZERKS Can you locate and identify all the greasable fittings on a typical CJ-3B ? Can you do so off the top of your head ? This should be doable by all owners so that you may efficiently perform the required maintainance. QTY....LOCATION 8 .......Shackle bushings 4 .......Spring pivot bolts 4 .......Tie rod ends 2 .......Drag link pivots 1 .......Bellcrank bearing 4 .......Universal joint trunions 2 .......Propeller shaft splines 1 .......Transfer case shift pivot 2 .......Rear wheel bearing 1 .......Pedal shaft pivot 1 .......Brake pedal pivot 30 .....Total greasable fittings Congradulations if you have gotten this far. You are proficient in your accumulation of Willys knowledge !!! Now can you identify the size of each fitting? Do you know if it is a straight fitting? Or is it an angled fitting? What angle, 45 degree or 90 degree? If you get this far you are truely an authority. Can you identify an original fitting from a replacement part by noting characteristics specific to origin? If you answer "YES" to all these questions, you may be abnormal ! To see the locations of these fittings refer to the Jeep Check Chart: |
