Larry, thank you for posting photos. You have an elegant set up, ready for any challenge.

Duffer, I'll do the bead you suggested.

Overtime, I mean "Oldtime," Agreed.

Rus, Glad you told the jeep, pull-point story. What you described brought back memories involving a CJ-5 in 1965 and the "pulling point" on an Edsel. If you want to "hear" that story, let me know.

GREG, I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THE PICTURES OF MY TOW BAR ATTATCH POINTS ON THE PHOTOBUCKET PAGE FOR TWO DAYS, I THINK I MIGHT HAVE IT NOW.
A PICTURE OF THE FRONT OF MY 54. A PICTURE OF MY BOOMERANG SHACKLE ( NOT ORIGINAL ) A FRONT PICTURE OF THE 54 SHACKLE. A PICTURE OF THE 1968 CJ-5 SHACKLE. I HAVE CUSTOM BUILT THE SHACKLES.
MY EARLIER BLOG MEANT TO SAY 1/4' STEEL. AND MY FRAME RAILS HAVE A BENT END PART OF THE FRAME RAIL THAT HAD THE RIVET ( LIKE YOURS ) RIVETING THE BUMPER THRU THE FRONT AND ONE BOLT EACH TOP AND BOTTOM INTO THE FRAME RAIL. THE RIVETS HAVE BEEN GROUND AWAY AND GR. 5 BOLTS NOW HOLD THE BUMPER AND IN THE CASE OF THE 68 THE TOW BAR ATTATCH POINTS. ON THE 68 THE ONE BOLT IS IN-LINE WITH THE FRAME RAIL AND THE SECOND BOLT IS TO THE INSIDE OF THE FRAME RAIL AND ONLY THRU THE BUMPER.
ON THE 54 I DESIGNED THE BOOMERANG SHACKLES TO BE ABLE TO ATTATCH MY TOW BAR DIRECTLY IN-LINE WITH THE SPRINGS. WHAT YOU SEE THERE NOW IS A SHACKLE FOR TRAIL EXTRACTION WHEN NEEDED.

Dick,
It may have exceeded the amount allowed per post. Try posting a second entry to show the other two pics.

Note: I always preview to see what my post will look like - especially with images.
